8 Freshservice AI alternatives in 2026: what to use instead of Freddy

Why do teams look past Freddy?
I build integrations at eesel, and the same pattern shows up on every IT desk I have worked with: an AI that answers employees is only as useful as the plan it sits on. One head of IT at a fintech company that runs AI as the first responder on its internal service desk put the goal simply:
"We use it to be the first responder to our Helpdesk tickets in Jira. It essentially acts just like an agent would."
That team runs Jira Service Management, not Freshservice, but Freshservice admins want the same thing. Here is what gets in the way on Freshservice:
- The autonomous agent is Enterprise-only. Freddy AI Agent (Classic) is included on Enterprise with 1,200 sessions per license per year, and a session is "a unique user" interacting within 24 hours. No overage price is published. My Freddy AI pricing guide does the maths.
- The rest is add-ons and promos. Freddy Copilot is $29 per agent per month on Pro and Enterprise. Agent Studio is free on Growth and up "through December 31, 2026", and Freshworks says pricing "will be shared closer to the end of the promotional period."
- Past tickets are not a knowledge source. Agent Studio knowledge sources are URLs, files, solution articles and apps like SharePoint and Confluence. Batch testing runs up to 50 queries you write or Freddy generates, not last quarter's queue.
- Security reviews stall on SharePoint. The Teams Servicebot asks for broad SharePoint access, which several admins have held off on.
That last one comes straight from the Freshservice subreddit:
"I'm trying to implement the MS Teams Servicebot / Freddy AI - But out security team can't get over the fact that it requires "Read files in all site collections" on an Application level to function, Which essentially give it the ability to read everything in our company Sharepoint as far as i'm aware."
And on reply quality for technical tickets, this Capterra review matches what I hear from IT leads:
"The generative AI features are still a bit rough for anything technical. I've tried using it to draft responses to more detailed engineering questions, and it tends to oversimplify or miss context, so I end up rewriting most of it anyway, fine for routine stuff, not something I'd trust blind."
The longer list lives in my post on Freshservice AI limitations.
What does Freddy still do well?
Fair is fair. Freshservice holds 4.6 out of 5 from 1,359 reviews on G2, and the AI gets real credit there. One enterprise reviewer wrote that "Freddy Copilot in particular has been a great addition, helping agents manage their workload more efficiently." Agent Studio deploys to the portal, Slack and Teams in 40+ languages, and the September 2026 update added a Freddy AI Agent for Email.

Two things are also cheaper than they look. Servicebot requester actions now work on all plans, so employees can raise tickets and approve requests from Slack without Enterprise. And Agent Studio costs nothing until year end. If you are on Growth or Pro, test Agent Studio before you buy anything below. Just plan for a price you cannot see yet. My Freshservice AI review has the hands-on detail.
How I picked these Freshservice AI alternatives
ChatGPT's answer to "what AI could we use with Freshservice instead?" leans on Moveworks, Aisera and marketplace apps. I started there and kept tools that clear three bars, the same ones I use for my best AI for ITSM list:
- It works with Freshservice through a documented connector, the API or MCP, or it is a real replacement you would migrate to.
- It answers or acts on employee requests, not only drafts text for agents.
- Its pricing is public, or it says plainly that it is quote-only.
I left out Forethought, which Zendesk announced it was buying in March 2026 and whose integrations page no longer lists Freshworks. I also left out the small marketplace GPT apps, covered in a short section near the end.

Which Freshservice AI alternative fits you?
Pick the reason you are looking and the widget points you at where I would start.
Why are you looking past Freddy?
One answer per reason, based on each vendor's own docs and pricing pages.
Pick a reason above.
1. Workativ
Best for: mid-size IT teams that want an AI agent in Slack or Teams without upgrading Freshservice.
How it works with Freshservice
Workativ's Freshservice page describes a pre-built, no-code connector with OAuth 2.0 and role-based access. The agent handles password resets, access requests, ticket status and IT policy questions in Slack or Teams from live Freshservice data, creates and closes the Freshservice incident, and can trigger workflows in Okta, Azure AD, Workday and Jira. Workativ says it needs "No Freddy AI Enterprise plan" and that it works on any Freshservice plan.
Pros
- Runs on any Freshservice plan.
- Actions reach beyond Freshservice into identity tools, which is where most password and access tickets actually get fixed.
- Session-based pricing with no per-user fee.
Cons
- Only 3 reviews on G2, so there is little independent signal.
- How approvals map into Freshservice is not spelled out on the page.
Pricing
The pricing page lists Starter at $99 per month ($84 billed annually), Business at $349 per month, and a custom Enterprise plan. My Workativ pricing post has the full table.
My take: the most direct swap for Freddy's agent if you are on Starter or Growth. Pick it if password and access requests make up your queue. Skip it if you need lots of peer reviews before you buy. See Workativ alternatives for its own competitors.
2. Siit
Best for: small IT and People teams that run requests in Slack and want a published price. If you are new to the idea, start with ITSM in Slack.
How it works with Freshservice
Siit's integration is a two-way sync between Freshservice tickets and Slack, Teams or email. Replies in chat post into the ticket and the other way round, so your Freshservice workflows stay where they are. Ticketing integrations sit in the Standard plan, and AI Triage and Agents sit in Pro.
Pros
- Clear, low per-admin pricing with unlimited employees.
- SOC 2 Type II and GDPR stated on the pricing page.
- Strong reviews: 5.0 from 29 on G2.
Cons
- Freshservice knowledge-base behavior is not documented on the integration page.
- The AI agent and triage need the top Pro tier.
Pricing
| Plan | Price per admin per month (annual) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Essentials | $23 | Assist capped at 10 conversations a week per admin |
| Standard | $45 | Adds ticketing integrations like Freshservice |
| Pro | $89 | Adds AI Agents and AI Triage |
| Custom | Quote | Larger teams |
A G2 reviewer liked how it cites sources:
"We have a pretty mature Notion setup and the AI agent points at it instead of trying to be smart. Answers actually link back to the doc the answer came from which means people start trusting it."
My take: the cheapest credible way to put a Slack front end on Freshservice. Pick Standard if you only need the sync, Pro if you want the AI agent. My Siit review and Siit vs Risotto cover the trade-offs.
3. Harmony
Best for: teams that want the deepest two-way Freshservice sync, including approvals and assets.
How it works with Freshservice
Harmony is "the chat front line for employee requests, and Freshservice stays the system of record." Employees ask in Slack or Teams, and Harmony answers from Freshservice knowledge or opens a ticket. It syncs tickets, service requests, attachments, knowledge articles, approval data, custom fields and CMDB assets, and it can change status, priority and assignee or post replies and notes.
Pros
- The widest sync list of any tool here, including approvals and assets.
- Can also be your whole service desk later, so it grows with you.
- SOC 2, ISO 27001 and HIPAA badges on the homepage.
Cons
- Quote-only pricing.
- Review counts conflict: Harmony cites 4.9 on its pricing page, while the G2 page I could open shows 4.5 from 15.
Pricing
Harmony's pricing is built from company size, number of desks, request volume and environment complexity. No list price.
My take: my pick if your approvals and asset requests are as busy as your how-to questions. Pick it if Freshservice has to stay the record but Slack has to do the talking. Skip it if you need a price before a sales call.
4. Moveworks
Best for: enterprises with thousands of employees and a big budget.
How it works with Freshservice
The official connector can query, create, update, resolve and reopen tickets, receive ticket updates, search knowledge articles and forms, and ingest users. Setup needs a dedicated agent service account with a custom "Moveworks Admin" role and its API key.
Pros
- A mature, documented Freshservice connector.
- Long security list, including FedRAMP on its security page.
Cons
- ServiceNow, a direct Freshservice competitor, now owns it. ServiceNow says Moveworks stays a standalone product, but its G2 listing now reads "ServiceNow EmployeeWorks".
- Quote-only, and sized for large companies.
A current customer said what many are thinking:
"Thoughts on ServiceNow buying Moveworks? I'm a current customer of Moveworks and slightly nervous that quality and support will drop."
Pricing
The pricing page has no numbers. My Moveworks pricing post tracks the marketplace listings.
My take: strong product, awkward owner for a Freshservice shop. Pick it if you are large and already planning around ServiceNow. Otherwise compare Moveworks alternatives first.
5. Aisera
Best for: enterprises running IT, HR and customer service across several systems.
How it works with Freshservice
Aisera's Freshservice page promises agentic orchestration, autonomous workflows, a pre-built agent library and A2A and MCP support. I could not find a public Freshservice connector doc, only a Freshdesk one, so the exact ticket and approval actions are not something I can confirm.
Pros
- Broad platform that spans IT, HR and customer service.
- 4.4 from 146 reviews on G2.
Cons
- Automation Anywhere bought Aisera in November 2025, and demo requests now route there.
- Freshservice specifics live behind a login.
Pricing
Quote only. See Aisera pricing and Aisera vs Moveworks.
My take: fits when Freshservice is one of many systems you want one agent across. For a Freshservice-only desk, it is more platform than you need. Compare Aisera competitors before a call.
6. Freshservice MCP server with Claude or ChatGPT
Best for: IT teams that want agents to work the queue from an AI app they already pay for.

How it works with Freshservice
This is the option most lists miss because it is so new. Freshworks' MCP server went generally available on September 10, 2026 at https://<subdomain>.freshservice.com/mcp. The MCP FAQs document Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor, Claude Code and Copilot Studio as clients. It exposes 45 tools across tickets, notes, assets, the service catalog and solution articles. Calls run as the signed-in user, and "MCP does not grant additional permissions."
A separate free marketplace app, Freshservice for AI Agents, offers 12 ticket and requester actions, but it is aimed at Freshworks' own agents in Freshdesk, Freshchat and Freshsales.

Pros
- Official, documented and permission-scoped.
- Your team picks the model, which answers the "can't choose the LLM" complaint about Freddy.
- No new vendor to put through security review if you already use Claude or ChatGPT.
Cons
- Every call counts, read or write. Growth gets 1,200 actions a year, Pro 6,000, Enterprise 12,000, and Starter gets none.
- The MCP FAQ says "monthly allowance" while the pricing page says per year, so confirm with Freshworks.
- No reply tool in the list, so the AI writes notes, not customer-facing replies.
- It helps agents work faster. It does not answer employees on its own.
Pricing
Included on Growth and up, with extra actions at $15 per 1,000. Rate limits are 25, 50 and 100 actions per minute by plan. If you want the general picture, I wrote about MCP for support and MCP servers for AI agents.
My take: the best free experiment on this list for Pro and Enterprise teams. On Growth, 100 actions a month disappears in a week of real use, so treat it as an agent tool, not an employee-facing bot.
7. Atomicwork
Best for: teams ready to replace Freshservice with an AI-native service desk.
How it works with Freshservice
It does not sit on top. Atomicwork is a full ITSM and ESM platform with "AI Coworkers" in Slack and Teams, and I found no official Freshservice connector. It is the "replace the desk" route. One of its founders, a Freshworks co-founder who built Freshservice, said as much in a comment on Reddit.
Pros
- AI is the core, not an add-on tier.
- Published entry price and ISO 42001 plus SOC 2 stated on its security page.
Cons
- A migration, with everything that brings.
- Very few public reviews: 4.0 from 1 on G2.
"Atomicwork's interface is in Slack so it's very easy for users to access."
Pricing
On Atomicwork pricing, Professional starts from $25,000 a year with 25,000 credits and 2 AI Coworkers. More Coworkers are $499 each per month. Business and Enterprise are custom.
My take: only for teams already leaving Freshservice for reasons beyond AI. If that is you, compare it with other Freshservice alternatives and ServiceNow.
8. eesel
Best for: IT teams that want an AI helpdesk teammate answering employees in Slack, with Freshservice actions under approval.

How it works with Freshservice
I will be straight, since I build these connectors: eesel has no native Freshservice connector today. Its native ITSM is Jira Service Management. Here is what does work alongside Freshservice:
- Answers in Slack. This is an internal helpdesk setup. The Internal Operations setup answers IT, HR and ops questions in Slack from Confluence, Notion, Google Drive or uploaded files, with the source linked. Teams is on request.
- Freshservice actions over the API. Network Access lets the agent make GET, POST, PATCH and DELETE calls to any domain you allow, with the auth header attached by eesel "so the AI never sees" it. The Freshservice API uses Basic auth with the API key, which fits. Freshservice is not named in eesel's docs, so test it before you rely on it.
- A human in the loop. Each action can be set to auto, needs approval or off in Actions and Approvals.

If you script your setup, the eesel CLI (npx @eesel/cli) runs the same teammate from a terminal. Every command prints JSON, so Claude Code or Cursor can wire up knowledge, automations and approvals for you, and the workspace can also act as an MCP server.
Pros
- Same teammate across Slack, your docs and any REST API, with approvals per action.
- No per-seat fee: a ticket or chat is 1 credit.
- Simulation runs the agent against real past tickets or generated cases before it goes live, and you can set confidence thresholds.
Cons
- No native Freshservice connector, so past Freshservice tickets cannot feed the agent or the simulation the way Freshdesk or JSM tickets can.
- Teams is not self-serve yet.
- SOC 2 Type II is underway, not finished.
Pricing
| Plan | Price | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 100 |
| Teammate | From $299/mo | 500, up to 5,000 at $1,749/mo |
| Enterprise | Custom | SSO, HIPAA with BAA, DPA |
Overage is opt-in at $0.80 per credit. Full details are on eesel pricing.
My take: pick eesel if most of your tickets are "how do I" questions your docs already answer and you want them handled in Slack first. If you need the AI living inside Freshservice tickets with full sync, Harmony or Siit fit better today. If your customer-facing support runs on Freshdesk, eesel connects there natively.
How much do Freshservice AI alternatives cost?

Starting prices only tell part of the story, because the units differ. Siit charges per admin, Freddy Copilot per agent, Workativ by sessions, eesel by credits and Atomicwork by a yearly credit bundle. A 10-agent desk paying for Copilot on annual billing spends $290 a month on top of the Pro plan's $990, before any AI agent. For the native side, see Freshservice pricing and the Pro plan breakdown.
What about the cheap marketplace AI apps?
The Freshworks marketplace has small GPT add-ons: ChatGPT Assist is free with 2.8 stars from 5 reviews, AI Smart Assist starts at $2.99 per agent, and TicketGPT PRO is $13.99 per account. Each has 1 to 5 reviews. They help agents draft or summarize. None answers employees on its own, so they are a Copilot substitute, not a Freddy agent substitute. My guide to AI for Freshservice tickets covers that drafting side.
Try eesel
If your IT queue is mostly questions your Confluence or Google Drive already answers, eesel's AI helpdesk teammate can take them in Slack before they turn into Freshservice tickets, and call the Freshservice API with approvals on when a ticket is needed. Free to try on 100 credits, and you can read every answer before it goes out. Try eesel.
