Whatsapp Chat by Vowels is a feature-rich WhatsApp widget for Wix with a tight free plan, and I give it 3 out of 5. It adds a WhatsApp button, team pop-ups, operator hours and click tracking, and the Wix listing shows 4.6 stars from 413 reviews. I pulled all 413 and the average checks out at 4.59.
The catch is the plan cards. The free plan stops at 500 visitors a month, Basic is $5 a month (or $2.50 billed yearly) up to 10,000 visitors, and Pro is $15 a month (or $8 yearly) for unlimited. The complaints cluster around upgrade prompts, a confusing editor and removing the app, and the developer's last review reply was in 2023.
And from where I sit, on eesel's support queue every day: the button only starts the chat. Every message still lands on a phone and waits for a person. That second half is where eesel's AI helpdesk teammate fits. Question Beauty gets the same kind of short "price?" messages over social and chat, and eesel sent about 960 replies for it in one month.
What is Whatsapp Chat by Vowels?
It is a Wix app called Whatsapp Chat by Vowels, listed on the Wix App Market by Vowels Labs pvt ltd and marked "Verified by Wix". The one-line pitch is "Chat app which connects your site with WhatsApp". You add your number, save, and a WhatsApp button appears on your site.

Vowels Labs also makes the Facebook Messenger & More app for Wix, which I reviewed separately, and the two share a dashboard: the Messenger app's settings even carry a "Disable Whatsapp" toggle. The WhatsApp app is the older and better-rated of the two, with 413 reviews against the Messenger app's 302. The listing is English-only, available worldwide, and support runs through a contact email and a privacy policy hosted on way2enjoy.com.
I work eesel's support queue, so I read these listings with one question in mind: what happens to the customer's message after they tap? That turned out to be the most useful way to judge this one.
How does the Vowels WhatsApp button work?
The widget sits on your Wix pages as a WhatsApp icon, a "Chat with us" label, or both. Depending on the settings, a tap either opens a pop-up first, where the visitor can pick a team member or type a message, or goes straight to WhatsApp. The settings panel calls the second option "Direct Whatsapp", which "redirect[s] directly to whatsapp instead of opening popup".

Either way, the conversation ends up in WhatsApp, not on your site. One five-star reviewer from December 2025 asked for exactly that to change, wishing visitors could chat "sin salir de mi web", without leaving the website. Nothing about the conversation stays in Wix: there's no transcript, no shared inbox and no record a teammate can check.
A note on the demo. The listing's "Check App Demo" link points to the same Wix development site as the Vowels Messenger app, and when I opened it on October 28, 2026 the only widget on the page was the round Messenger button, loaded from way2enjoy.com. So I couldn't tap a live WhatsApp version; what I describe here comes from the listing, its three gallery images and the reviews.
What features does Vowels WhatsApp chat have?
The listing promises more than most Wix WhatsApp buttons I've looked at. Four headline features sit at the top: brand-matched widgets, support and conversion, click tracking, and operator schedules.
Chat faces and team members
The first gallery image shows six pop-up styles, from a green "Start a Conversation" card to dark "Hi there" panels with team members listed as "Sales", "Marketing" or "Courier". One style shows a pre-written greeting asking the visitor for an order number. It's simple ticket routing, done by the visitor choosing who to message.

Design and position controls
The settings panel is detailed: separate on or off switches for mobile and desktop, left, right or "wall" positions, distance from the bottom in pixels, label radius, icon scale, and chatbox width and height. A second gallery image shows dozens of icon styles, from round WhatsApp logos to colour-based labels like "Classic Blue" and "Black & Gold".

More controls also means more places to get lost, which shows up in the reviews below.
Operator hours
The listing says you can "make operator online offline as per the given time". That's the closest thing to an away message here, and it's useful: a visitor at 11pm sees that nobody's around instead of messaging into silence. It doesn't answer them, though. For that you need an auto-reply on WhatsApp itself.
Click tracking with Google Analytics and Meta Pixel
The listing says you can monitor "WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and all the other chat buttons performance and click rates using google analytics and facebook pixel". That's a real step up from a plain link. If you run ads, knowing which pages drive WhatsApp clicks is worth more than the button itself. I couldn't test the events without installing the app, so check them in your Analytics debug view after setup.
More channels behind one button
Despite the name, the widget can also list Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Line, a call button, SMS and "up to 5 custom chat channels" for any link. That puts it closer to Chaty than to a WhatsApp-only button. Each channel still opens its own app, so it's multichannel, not omnichannel.
How much does Vowels WhatsApp chat cost?
There are three plans on the Wix listing, priced in USD and metered by visitors. Every plan includes unlimited widgets, unlimited channels and widget customization; the only difference is how many visitors you can have.
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed yearly (per month) | Visitors per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | Up to 500 |
| Basic | $5 | $2.50 | Up to 10,000 |
| Pro | $15 | $8 | Unlimited |

Two things stand out. First, yearly billing halves the price: Basic is $30 a year against $60 paid monthly, and Pro is $96 a year against $180. If you know you'll keep it, pay yearly.
Second, 500 visitors is low. A small Wix site with a few hundred visitors a week passes it in a month. A February 2024 reviewer also says the app asked for an upgrade before the site was even published, "claiming we consumed monthly free quota (500 visits)". The listing doesn't say whether a visitor means a unique visitor, a page view or a widget load, so treat the free plan as a trial with no end date rather than a permanent free tier.

Compared with its neighbours, it's still cheap. The Certified Code button has a free plan with no visitor limit named and charges $6 a month for team profiles. PurpleBear also prices by site views, and Wix's own chat is covered in my notes on Smart Chat pricing.
Which plan do you need?
The calculator picks your Vowels plan from your traffic, puts it next to Certified Code for the same setup, and shows what each WhatsApp chat costs you in button fees.
Type your monthly visitors and chats, then pick billing and whether you need a team pop-up.
At 3,000 visitors and 60 chats a month, Vowels Basic costs $5, about 8 cents per chat started. The button is never the expensive part. The expensive part is the person answering those 60 chats.
Where the listing disagrees with itself
I checked the overview, the plan cards and the review feed, and a few details don't line up:
- Channels. The plan cards say "Unlimited channels" on every plan, while the description says you can add "up to 5 custom chat channels". The likely reading is unlimited built-in channels plus five custom links, but the listing doesn't say.
- The demo. "Check App Demo" opens a site running the Messenger app, not the WhatsApp widget.
- The review count. Wix's public review feed returns 939 reviews for this app, but 526 of them, all from June to September 2023, are marked unpublished as of September 2023. The listing's 413 are what's left. Wix doesn't say why those were unpublished.
What do Vowels WhatsApp chat users say?
I pulled every published review on October 28, 2026: 413 reviews averaging 4.59, which matches the 4.6 header. The split is 347 five-star, 24 four-star, 8 three-star, 7 two-star and 27 one-star.

The numbers behind the stars tell a different story from the average:
- Most reviews are very short. 244 of the 413 are under 15 characters, like "excelente" or "good". Many are in Spanish and Portuguese.
- The app's busy years are behind it. 250 reviews came in 2024, then 32 in 2025 and 8 so far in 2026.
- The developer stopped replying. Only 9 published reviews have a developer reply, and the last one is from September 2023.
The happy reviews are about how much the widget can do:
"From just an icon to advanced customized chats to make the chat experience more accurate."
The complaints fall into three groups. About a dozen reviews call the setup confusing or say edits don't show up, like a September 2026 review saying it's hard to manage sizes and text because changes "no aparecen", don't appear. A four-star reviewer put the mixed feeling well:
"Works well. Pretty confusing setup but not too bad… only issue is that I can't change my icon image to a custom one."
Four reviews describe pressure to upgrade, and the most detailed one ties it to the visitor cap:
"the app refused to work and tries to enforce paid subscription even before I finished the setup or even published the web page"
And 10 reviews, mostly one-star, are about not being able to remove or cancel the app, in Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish, Italian and English. None of them got a reply.
Outside Wix, I found no G2, Capterra or Trustpilot listing. A Reddit thread on WhatsApp for Wix sums up how many owners feel about apps like this one:
"I dont trust these extra apps for speed and reliability."
That poster went with a plain link instead, which Wix's own guide covers. It's the free baseline every WhatsApp app on Wix is competing with.
Where does Vowels WhatsApp chat fall short?
Some of these are the limits of any button. Others are specific to this app.
- A tight free plan. 500 visitors a month is a trial for most sites, and the listing doesn't define a visitor.
- No support you can see. No help docs on the listing, no developer replies since 2023, and a demo link that shows a different app.
- Removal complaints. 10 reviewers say they couldn't uninstall or cancel it. Note where the app sits in your Wix dashboard before you install.
- No inbox. Chats land on each person's phone, with no assignment or shared history.
- No answers. Operator hours tell a visitor you're away; nothing replies for you. "Where's my order?" still needs a person, where an AI agent could answer it.
- Outside your helpdesk. WhatsApp chats never reach your ticketing system, so your first response time there goes unmeasured.
To be fair, the feature list is strong for the price. Team pop-ups, schedules and Analytics events on every plan are things other Wix buttons charge more for, or don't offer.
Who should use Vowels WhatsApp chat?
The deciding question is whether your traffic fits the plan you're willing to pay for, because every feature is on every plan and only the visitor cap changes.
| You are... | Verdict |
|---|---|
| A new Wix site under 500 visitors a month | Free plan works, watch the cap |
| A small business running ads that wants WhatsApp click tracking | Good fit, Basic at $2.50 a month yearly |
| A team of 2-4 splitting sales and support on WhatsApp | Fair fit, the team pop-up is on every plan |
| Someone who wants WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram in one button | Fair fit, or compare Chaty |
| Anyone who needs responsive vendor support | Skip, replies stopped in 2023 |
| A store getting the same WhatsApp questions every evening | Skip, the work is answering, not collecting |
What are the alternatives to Vowels WhatsApp chat?
Split them by what happens after the tap.
- Another WhatsApp button on Wix. Certified Code has no free visitor cap, while Rabbit SEO and Smartarget price it differently.
- More channels in one button. Chaty on Wix, or Social Chat if you're on WordPress.
- Chat that stays on your site. My Wix Smart Chat review covers Wix's own option, and Tidio adds a shared inbox.
- A WhatsApp inbox for a team. The WhatsApp Business API puts the number in a shared inbox; start with my API provider list.
- WhatsApp inside your helpdesk, with AI answering. See Gorgias WhatsApp or Zendesk and WhatsApp, then add an AI teammate on top.
For the tools that answer as well as open the chat, my best WhatsApp chatbot list is the wider comparison.
Vowels WhatsApp chat review verdict: is it worth it?
3 out of 5. On features, it's one of the better WhatsApp widgets on Wix: team pop-ups, operator hours, Analytics and Pixel tracking, extra channels, and all of it on every plan. Basic at $2.50 a month on yearly billing is cheap for that.
What holds it back is everything around the widget. The free plan stops at 500 visitors, the reviews describe upgrade prompts and trouble removing the app, and the developer hasn't replied to a review since 2023. If you install it, pay yearly once you're past the cap, test the button logged out on your live site, and note where to remove it before you need to.
And once the chats start coming in, the work moves to your phone.
Where does eesel fit next to a WhatsApp button?
A button gets the visitor into WhatsApp. eesel answers them once they're there. eesel is an AI teammate platform, and for this job the relevant teammate is the AI helpdesk teammate, which joins your support setup and takes the repeat questions.
It connects to your WhatsApp Business number, and to Instagram, Messenger and SMS if your Vowels widget lists those too. It answers from your site, your knowledge base and past tickets, checks orders in Shopify, and hands a conversation to a person by topic or when it isn't sure. You set those handoff rules in plain words, like "always pass refund requests to me".

Question Beauty is the closest match to a busy WhatsApp shop. Its Messenger, email and website chat land in Gorgias, and many messages are just a product name and "price?". eesel reads those as buying intent and replies with the product link, in the customer's language. Between 8 August and 8 September 2026 it handled about 990 tickets, sent about 960 replies and looked up about 290 Shopify orders; refunds and complaints went to a person with a note.
ClutchLoop, a phone accessory brand on Shopify, runs eesel on Gorgias and its website chat. In the same month it handled about 230 tickets and 27 website chats, sent about 180 replies directly, and checked 76 products live in Shopify so prices and stock were never stale.
eesel's own customer notes show the same pull: one German multi-shop Shopify and Zendesk store put WhatsApp on its must-have list next to German chat localization. If you'd rather keep chats on your Wix site, eesel's chat bubble is one script tag, and the Instagram and Messenger integrations cover the other buttons.
My guides on automating WhatsApp support and AI WhatsApp support for ecommerce cover the steps in between, and after-hours support is where it pays off first.
Try eesel
If your Vowels button is already filling a phone with "is this in stock?" and "where's my order?", eesel's AI helpdesk teammate can answer those on WhatsApp from your store and help pages, and hand refunds and complaints to you with the context attached. It starts free with 100 credits, and paid plans begin at $299 a month for 500 credits, where one chat is one credit (eesel pricing).
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Whatsapp Chat by Vowels?
It is a Wix App Market app by Vowels Labs pvt ltd that adds a WhatsApp button, and an optional pop-up with your team members, to a Wix site. A visitor taps it and continues the conversation in WhatsApp. It is a click-to-chat widget, not a live chat inbox or a chatbot.
Is the Vowels WhatsApp chat app free?
There is a free plan, but it covers up to 500 visitors a month. Above that you need Basic at $5 a month (up to 10,000 visitors) or Pro at $15 a month (unlimited), or $2.50 and $8 a month on yearly billing. This Vowels WhatsApp chat review covers each plan in the pricing section.
How much does Vowels WhatsApp chat cost per year?
Basic costs $30 a year on yearly billing against $60 paid monthly, and Pro costs $96 a year against $180. All prices are in USD on the Wix listing. For comparison, the Certified Code button has no visitor cap on its free plan.
Does Vowels WhatsApp chat answer messages automatically?
No. The widget opens WhatsApp and a person replies from their phone or WhatsApp Web. For automatic answers you need an AI agent on the WhatsApp number itself, like eesel for WhatsApp, which answers from your knowledge base and hands the rest to you.
Why can't I uninstall the Vowels WhatsApp app?
10 of the 413 Wix reviews mention trouble removing or cancelling the app, and the listing has no help docs. Wix apps are removed from the Wix editor or the site dashboard's app list, and a paid plan is cancelled from your Wix account's billing page, not inside the app.
Is Vowels WhatsApp chat better than Certified Code on Wix?
Vowels lists more widget features, like operator schedules and Google Analytics and Meta Pixel tracking, on every plan. Certified Code has no visitor cap on its free plan and replies to its reviews. My Certified Code review has the full breakdown.
What should I use instead if my WhatsApp chats keep growing?
Keep a button for the click and add something that answers. eesel's AI helpdesk teammate connects to WhatsApp and to your Wix site through the chat bubble. It starts free with 100 credits, and paid plans begin at $299 a month for 500 credits (eesel pricing).
