7 best Verifast AI alternatives for Shopify stores in 2026

Why do Shopify stores look for Verifast AI alternatives?
Credit first. Verifast auto-trains on your Shopify catalog, recommends products, nudges hesitant shoppers and tracks orders, and its team tunes the bot with you every month. Long-term merchants on its listing mostly praise how it handles detailed product questions. I covered all of that in my Verifast AI review, where it scored 3.6 out of 5.

The reasons people shop around are specific, and most come from the plan structure rather than the bot.
1. A person taking over costs $299 a month. On Verifast's pricing page, live agent handover sits in the Sales plan at $299 a month ($239 billed yearly). Starter ($99) and Growth ($199) don't list it. If your shoppers sometimes need a human mid-chat, that's the plan you're on.
2. Social channels are Enterprise only. The site lists AI on email, app, WhatsApp and Instagram under Enterprise, which is custom-priced. Stores that sell through Instagram DMs need a quote before they know the cost.
3. Two price lists that don't match. The site sells 500, 2,000 and 5,000 conversations for $99, $199 and $299. The Shopify listing shows a Free plan for 200 chats and Starter at $99 for 1,000 chats plus $0.05 per extra chat. My Verifast AI pricing post untangles both.
4. Few reviewers like you outside India. In my review, 131 of the 140 readable reviews came from stores based in India. If you sell in Europe or North America, there are few stores like yours to compare against. The two one-star reviews are both about billing after cancelling, so whatever you choose, put your cancellation in writing.
None of these is a dealbreaker. They're the reasons to compare before you renew.
How I picked these alternatives
I'm Riell, and I work eesel's support queue every day. That shapes how I read every shopping assistant: the demo shows a shopper getting a perfect product match, but my inbox shows the shopper who asked about sizing, bought anyway, and wrote back a week later asking where the parcel is. A tool that's great at the first half and absent for the second leaves that work to your team.
One sales call sticks with me. A DTC supplements brand on Gorgias and Shopify was handling about 7,000 tickets a month on roughly 30,000 orders, and its ops lead told us the team simply couldn't keep up. What they needed answered automatically wasn't only "where is my order?" but basic product questions too. That's the overlap most of these tools are now racing toward.
Before writing, I asked ChatGPT the question a store owner would ask: "I run a Shopify store and use Verifast as our AI shopping assistant. What are good alternatives I should look at?" It named Rep AI, Manifest AI, Alhena AI, Zipchat, Gorgias, Tidio, Dialog and Octane AI, and its advice was to favor tools that "help customers decide what to buy, not just answer FAQs". That list is the core of mine. I left out Dialog to keep this to seven, and added eesel for stores whose real pain is the inbox after the sale.
Every price below comes from the vendor's own pricing page or Shopify listing, checked on 22 October 2026.
Seller or solver: where does each tool sit?
The most useful thing to decide first isn't "which tool is best" but which end of this line you want to move toward. Verifast sits near the selling end.

The placement is my read of each product's own pages, not a score. If your chats are mostly "which serum is right for oily skin?" and "does this fit a 16-inch laptop?", stay left. If they're mostly "where is my order?" and "can I change the address?", move right. Most stores have both, which is why a common setup pairs a selling chat on the storefront with an AI on the helpdesk for everything after checkout. My piece on conversational commerce covers the selling half, and my guide to WISMO automation covers the other.

What you pay for with each tool
Entry prices tell you very little here, because the eight tools count eight different things.

Verifast's unit is generous. A shopper who chats on day 1, day 8 and day 20 is still one conversation. Against that:
- Per site visitor (Rep AI): you pay for traffic whether it chats or not. Good for high-converting chat, costly for big traffic and few chats.
- Per AI reply (Zipchat): a shopper who asks about shipping, sizing and returns uses three replies. Zipchat estimates about 2,500 conversations on its $600 Scale plan.
- Per conversation (Alhena AI, Tidio Lyro): a long chat costs the same as a short one, but a returning shopper counts again.
- Per ticket plus resolution (Gorgias): an AI-resolved chat is a helpdesk ticket and an automated interaction.
- Per ticket or chat (eesel): 1 credit however long it runs, per the eesel pricing page.
At 2,000 conversations a month, Verifast's Growth plan is $199. Zipchat would need Scale at $600, Alhena would be its $999 yearly Scale plan plus 800 overage conversations at $1.20, and eesel would be $849 for 2,000 credits. So if price is your only reason to leave, read your own numbers first. My post on deflection vs resolution explains why these units aren't interchangeable.

Pick the job you most want done better. The panel shows where I'd start and why, with each vendor's own starting price.
What do you want your next tool to do better than Verifast?
Tap a goal. Prices are each vendor's own monthly list price on 22 October 2026.
Opens the chat itself when a shopper is about to leave, then recommends and upsells. Best when your traffic converts well through chat.
Answers product questions on the page and recovers carts, with every channel on every plan. Best when chats are short.
Conversational search, guided discovery and comparisons across up to 50,000 SKUs, plus support in the same agent.
Product discovery and recommendations across chat, WhatsApp, Instagram, voice and email, trained once.
Builds product-finder quizzes and shows revenue and drop-off for every answer. Pair it with a chat if shoppers also ask free-form questions.
A full Shopify helpdesk whose AI Agent answers pre-sale questions and can cancel, edit and reship orders.
An AI helpdesk teammate in Gorgias, Zendesk or Freshdesk that checks the Shopify order first and answers product questions with a link.
Live chat, a light inbox and an AI agent from one vendor. Cheapest at a few hundred AI chats a month.
Its per-shopper meter is hard to beat on price. If cost is the only reason to move, check your volume first.
Chat, email, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger are on every plan, including Free.
The same agent on your site, WhatsApp and Instagram DMs, with order handling built in.
Verifast's site lists WhatsApp and Instagram on Enterprise only, and live agent handover on its $299 Sales plan.
1. Rep AI
Best for: stores that want the chat to start the conversation and push hesitant shoppers to checkout.

Rep AI was the first tool ChatGPT named, as "best for conversion optimization". It watches shopping behavior, spots shoppers about to drop off and opens the chat itself with product recommendations. It holds 4.6 from 122 reviews on its Shopify listing.
What it does better than Verifast
- Proactive selling is the core product. The Rep AI pricing page lists drop-off detection, a proactive product approach, out-of-stock recommendations and abandoned cart rescue on the Sales plan.
- Live chat and unlimited seats on every plan. A person can step in without moving to a top tier.
- A separate support agent. The Support plan covers order status, returns and exchanges, cancelling and modifying orders, and answering emails.
Where it falls short
- Billing by visitors means you pay for traffic that never chats. Verifast only counts shoppers who talk to the bot.
- Sales and Support are separate products. At 80,000 sessions a month, the site shows Sales at $578, Support at $250 and the bundled Concierge at $726.
- Flow Studio and custom support policies are $200 add-ons each outside the Concierge bundle.
Pricing
| Plan (Shopify listing) | Monthly | Yearly | Visitors included | Products |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pay-as-you-Grow | Free to install | n/a | 100, then $12 per 1,000 | Up to 100 |
| Starter | $104 | $995 | 10,000 | Up to 1,000 |
| Basic | $209 | $2,006 | 25,000 | Up to 2,000 |
| Standard | $368 | $3,528 | 50,000 | Up to 5,000 |
Paid plans include a 14-day free trial, and extra visitors are $12 per 1,000 on all of them.
What merchants say
"This is the best AI-rep we've used (and we've tried a few of them for our store)."
"Good app but definitely not worth $550 per month for a basic LLM."
My take: Pick Rep AI if Verifast's selling is what you value and you want the bot to be more proactive. Skip it if your traffic is high and your chat volume is low, since the visitor meter will cost more than Verifast's shopper meter. My guide to proactive chat covers when an opening message helps and when it annoys.
2. Manifest AI
Best for: stores that want one product-discovery agent across the website, WhatsApp and Instagram.

Manifest AI was ChatGPT's pick for "product discovery", and its homepage pitches the same agent "trained once, deployed everywhere": website chat, WhatsApp, Instagram, voice calling and email. It holds 4.4 from 61 reviews on its Shopify listing, where it's free to test.
What it does better than Verifast
- Social channels without an Enterprise quote. WhatsApp and Instagram DM agents are part of the core product.
- Sales and support in one conversation. The homepage says it resolves order status, returns, shipping and product questions, and hands off the rest to your existing helpdesk.
- It works off Shopify too. Manifest says catalog sync, stock queries and order handling work the same on other platforms.
Where it falls short
- No public price. The listing says free to test, and the site routes you to a demo, so you won't know the cost until a sales call.
- Recent reviews are uneven. Of 61 ratings, 7 are one-star, including an October 2026 review about service ending after payment.
- The listing is in English only.
Pricing
| Plan | Price | What's listed |
|---|---|---|
| Free to test (Shopify listing) | $0 | AI chatbot, product recommendations, AI training, cart and checkout recovery, a dedicated AI expert, lead collection |
| Paid | Quote on demo | Not published |
What merchants say
"The chatbot integrates well and helps customers navigate products quickly, which improves the overall shopping experience."
"We wanted to implement ManifestAI as the core AI solution for our e-commerce platform due to its promising features. Unfortunately, we couldn't even get it up and running."
My take: Pick Manifest AI if WhatsApp and Instagram selling is the gap you're leaving Verifast to fill. Get the price and the onboarding plan in writing before you sign. My list of AI chatbots for Shopify has more multichannel options.
3. Alhena AI
Best for: larger catalogs where shoppers compare products in detail, with support handled by the same agent.

Alhena AI is an AI shopping and support concierge built only for ecommerce. ChatGPT called it "best for advanced shopping assistance" and flagged fashion and beauty, where shoppers have detailed questions. Its Shopify listing launched on March 8, 2024 and holds 5.0 from 6 reviews.
What it does better than Verifast
- Built for big catalogs. Paid plans index up to 50,000 URLs or SKUs, with conversational search, guided discovery, comparisons and bundles.
- Fair credit rules. The Alhena pricing page says spam, irrelevant queries and immediate human handoffs that don't involve the AI cost zero credits.
- More than the chat. Paid plans include review management and AI visibility tracking across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini.
Where it falls short
- It's expensive per conversation. Essentials is 200 conversations for $239 a month, against 500 on Verifast's $99 Starter.
- Yearly plans are charged upfront: $2,388 for Essentials after the 14-day trial.
- Only 6 Shopify reviews, so there's little merchant feedback to compare.
Pricing
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly (per month) | Conversations | Overage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 25 | n/a |
| Essentials | $239 | $199 | 200 | $1.20 each |
| Growth | $599 | $499 | 550 | $1.20 each |
| Scale | $1,199 | $999 | 1,200 | $1.20 each |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Unlimited | n/a |
What merchants say
"It does what it says, and answers our customers questions with knowledgeable responses that are clear and easy to understand, and asks follow-ups when required to clarify the customers needs and expectations."
My take: Pick Alhena if your catalog is large and technical, and you want sales and support in one agent with revenue tracked per chat. Skip it on price if your volume is high and your questions are simple. My Decagon vs Alhena AI comparison goes deeper on how it handles support.
4. Zipchat
Best for: stores that want a fast-to-launch sales chat with every channel included.

Zipchat is the closest like-for-like swap: an AI sales agent that answers product questions on the page, recommends products and recovers carts. It holds 4.9 from 209 reviews on its Shopify listing, and ChatGPT picked it for "quick deployment and multichannel sales".
What it does better than Verifast
- Every channel on every plan. Chat, email, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger are listed even on Free.
- Product FAQs on the page. It generates questions per product that shoppers tap for an instant answer.
- AI corrections on every plan. When it gets an answer wrong, you correct it once rather than rewriting a flow.
Where it falls short
- It bills per AI reply, not per shopper. A three-question chat uses three replies, so long chats cost more than on Verifast.
- The human handoff forwards by email, which can arrive in your helpdesk as a new ticket.
- It learns from your site and corrections, not your past support tickets.
Pricing
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly | AI replies | Zipchat's conversation estimate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | n/a | 120 | About 50 |
| Starter | $80 | $768 | 750 | About 300 |
| Pro | $300 | $2,880 | 3,000 | About 1,250 |
| Scale | $600 | $5,760 | 6,000 | About 2,500 |
Prices are from the Zipchat listing, with a 7-day free trial on paid plans. My Zipchat pricing post runs the numbers by volume.
What merchants say
"We evaluated several AI, sales, and customer service applications, and Zipchat stands far above the rest."
My take: Pick Zipchat if you want Verifast's selling with WhatsApp and Instagram included from day one. Skip it if your shoppers ask long, multi-part questions, where the reply meter adds up. My Zipchat review and Zipchat alternatives cover the trade-offs.
5. Gorgias
Best for: stores that want one helpdesk for every channel, with an AI that sells and solves inside it.

Gorgias is the default Shopify helpdesk, with 4.3 from 706 reviews on its Shopify listing. ChatGPT called it "best for combining sales and support": its AI Agent answers pre-purchase questions, suggests products and tracks orders inside the same helpdesk your team works in. My guide to the Gorgias AI shopping assistant covers the selling side.
What it does better than Verifast
- The handoff stays in the ticket. Email, chat, SMS, voice and social land in one inbox, so a person picks up with the full history.
- Real order actions. The AI Agent can cancel unfulfilled orders, edit addresses, replace items and reship.
- Seats aren't the meter. The helpdesk prices on tickets, so adding agents doesn't raise the bill.
Where it falls short
- Two meters on AI work. An AI-resolved chat is a ticket and an automated interaction.
- It's less specialized in proactive selling than a dedicated sales assistant, which ChatGPT flagged too.
- No free plan, only a 7-day trial.
Pricing
| Plan | Helpdesk (monthly) | Tickets included | Per automated interaction | With AI Agent (monthly) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $10 | 50 | $1.00 | $40 (30 interactions) |
| Basic | $60 | 300 | $0.90 | $90 (30 interactions) |
| Pro | $360 | 2,000 | $0.90 | $550 (190 interactions) |
| Advanced | $900 | 5,000 | $0.85 | $1,430 (530 interactions) |
Prices are from the Gorgias pricing page. My Gorgias pricing guide does the maths by plan, and Gorgias AI Agent pricing covers the AI side.
What merchants say
"While the AI is not always fully accurate yet due to occasional hallucinations, we're hopeful ongoing improvements will help it provide accurate and helpful support the vast majority of the time."
My take: Pick Gorgias if your post-purchase tickets have outgrown a chat app and you want the helpdesk most Shopify support hires already know. Skip it if you only want a storefront salesperson. My Gorgias review and Gorgias alternatives cover the rest.
6. Tidio
Best for: small stores that want live chat, an AI agent and a light inbox on a tight budget.

Tidio is the most-reviewed tool here, with 4.8 from 1,355 reviews on its Shopify listing. ChatGPT's pick for "small stores and tighter budgets", its AI agent Lyro recommends products, compares sizes and hands off to live chat.
What it does better than Verifast
- A real free plan. Live chat, ticketing, a mobile app and social channels are free for 50 human chats a month, plus 50 one-time Lyro conversations.
- Human handoff at every price. The live chat inbox is part of the product, not a $299 tier.
- Native Shopify actions on the Lyro plan, plus a website scraper for training.
Where it falls short
- Lyro is a prepaid quota, and above 1,000 AI conversations a month it moves to a custom plan.
- It's a general chat tool, so it does less proactive selling than Verifast out of the box.
- The helpdesk and the AI are priced separately, so the total depends on both.
Pricing
| Plan (Shopify listing) | Monthly | Yearly | What it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | n/a | Live chat with 50 users, ticketing, mobile app |
| Customer Service | $29 | $290 | 100 conversations ($59 for 250 to 1,000) |
| Flows | $29 | $290 | Chatbot builder, up to 40K visitors |
| Lyro AI Chatbot | $39 | $390 | AI agent with native Shopify actions |
Lyro scales up in steps on the Tidio pricing page. Full detail is in my Tidio AI pricing post.
What merchants say
"There is still room for improvement, particularly in making AI responses more flexible and improving customization options for automation."
My take: Pick Tidio if you're under a few hundred AI chats a month and want a person able to jump in without paying for a sales tier. Skip it if selling is the job. My Tidio review and Tidio alternatives go deeper.
7. Octane AI
Best for: stores where a structured product-finder quiz sells better than open chat.

Octane AI builds shoppable product quizzes for Shopify, and ChatGPT named it for "quiz-based recommendations". It holds 4.7 from 209 reviews on its Shopify listing. It's not a chatbot, so treat it as a different route to the same goal: getting a shopper to the right product.
What it does better than Verifast
- Structured discovery. Skincare, supplements and apparel shoppers often answer five questions faster than they type one good one.
- Revenue per answer. Analytics show completion, opt-in, orders and revenue for each quiz answer.
- Zero-party data for email. Quiz answers sync to Klaviyo and Shopify for follow-up flows.
Where it falls short
- It doesn't answer free-form questions or track orders, so you'd likely keep a chat as well.
- The Basic plan is limited to two quizzes.
- AI features use extra credits per quiz, about 0.3 for Smart Products.
Pricing
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly (per month) | Credits included | Quizzes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Octane AI Basic | $50 | $43 | 400 | 2 |
| Octane AI Plus | $200 | $170 | 2,200 | Unlimited |
| Enterprise and Unlimited | From $500 | From $425 | 7,250 and up | Unlimited |
One credit is one finished quiz, extra credits are $0.10, and unused credits roll over for 30 days, per the Octane AI pricing page. Every plan has a 14-day free trial.
What merchants say
"The dashboard is very detailed. The support always reply to any question raised, with details and guidance."
My take: Pick Octane AI if your best-selling path is "answer a few questions, get a routine", and pair it with a chat or helpdesk AI for everything else. My guide to the AI sales assistant category covers the chat-based options.
8. eesel
Best for: stores that want pre-sale product answers and the post-purchase inbox handled by one AI teammate.
eesel is an AI helpdesk teammate. It joins your Shopify store and the helpdesk you already use, such as Gorgias, Zendesk or Freshdesk, and works the queue like a new hire: it reads your products, policies and past tickets, checks the order before it answers, and passes anything about money to a person. On the storefront, the chat bubble answers visitors from the same knowledge.
What it does better than Verifast
- Pre-sale questions get a product link, not a form. Question Beauty, a vegan cosmetics brand, has eesel read short messages like "pp", "price" or "link" as buying intent and reply with the product link. A price comes from the current product page or it shares the link instead.
- Orders are checked before it replies. In one month, eesel handled about 990 of Question Beauty's Gorgias tickets, sent about 960 replies, looked up 290 Shopify orders and closed 280 tickets without a person.
- The handoff carries context. Refunds, complaints and chargebacks go to a person with an internal note on what the customer asked, what eesel found in Shopify and why a human is needed.
- One store, several brands. Nordbutiker, a Swedish e-bike and scooter retailer, runs a separate bot for each of its 4 brands on its website chat bubble and in Zendesk.
Where it falls short
- It's not a proactive salesperson. It doesn't pop up drop-off nudges or run quizzes, so keep a selling tool if that's your main lever.
- It's priced for teams with a real inbox. At 500 chats or tickets a month it's $299, more than Verifast's Starter.
- It needs a helpdesk or the chat bubble to work in. It isn't a standalone storefront widget with a CRM.
Pricing
| Plan | Monthly | Credits | Extra credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free trial | $0 | 100 to try | n/a |
| 500 | $299 | 500 | $0.80 each, with a cap you set |
| 1,000 | $499 | 1,000 | $0.80 each |
| 2,000 | $849 | 2,000 | $0.80 each |
| 5,000 | $1,749 | 5,000 | $0.80 each |
A ticket or a chat is 1 credit however long it runs, and looking up an order inside it costs nothing extra, per the eesel pricing page.
What merchants say
"Very good application of AI technology for our Webstore. Easy to use and incredibly helpful for our customers while easing the burdon of technical support and parts identification from our staff."
My take: Pick eesel if most of your customer messages arrive after checkout, or in Gorgias, Zendesk or Freshdesk, and you want those answered with the order in hand. It can sit next to a selling tool like Rep AI or Octane AI rather than replace it. My roundup of the best AI for ecommerce support compares it with the other support-first tools.
How to test a Verifast alternative before you switch
ChatGPT's own advice was to run any replacement against the same shopper questions and compare. I agree, and from the support side I'd add two tests most demos skip: a real order lookup and a real handoff.

- Ask 30 real questions. Pull them from your Verifast chat insights, including the vague ones like "which one is best for me?".
- Check every product, size and price. A wrong price on a recommendation is the error shoppers screenshot.
- Look up a real order. Ask "where is my order?" with a real order number and see whether it checks Shopify or guesses.
- Hand off to a person. Make sure your team sees the full chat and the customer isn't asked to repeat themselves. My guide to AI handoff best practices has a checklist.
- Price it at your volume. Use last month's conversation count, not the entry price.
Then time the switch to your Verifast renewal, cancel in writing to team@verifast.tech as its FAQ asks, and uninstall from Shopify yourself before the date. My guide to testing an AI agent covers the rest of a pre-launch check.
Try eesel for the questions Verifast leaves behind
Verifast is a salesperson on your storefront, and a good one for product-heavy catalogs. If what's actually filling your week is the inbox, the "is this in stock?" DMs and "where's my parcel?" emails that land in Gorgias or Zendesk, eesel is the AI helpdesk teammate I'd point you to. It answers the pre-sale question with a product link, checks the Shopify order before it replies, and hands refunds to your team with the context already written down.

That's what Question Beauty runs on Gorgias and Shopify, in the language each customer wrote in. Koffer.ch, a Swiss luggage shop, uses it differently: eesel drafts Freshdesk replies in German, French, English or Italian for a person to send. My guide to multilingual ecommerce support covers that setup.
Before eesel answers anyone, you can run it on your past tickets and see what it would have said, which is how you catch a wrong-price answer before a customer does. You get 100 credits to try it free, no card needed. Try eesel on your own Shopify questions.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the best Verifast AI alternatives for a Shopify store?
Rep AI and Zipchat are the closest swaps if you want a chat that sells. Manifest AI and Alhena AI fit stores with big or technical catalogs, Octane AI fits quiz-led selling, Tidio is the budget option, and Gorgias fits if support matters as much as sales. My Verifast AI review covers what you would be replacing.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Verifast AI?
Often not at the same volume. Verifast counts one shopper over 30 days as one conversation, so 2,000 conversations cost $199 a month on its site. Tidio's Lyro starts at $39 a month and Shopify Inbox is free, but both do less selling. My Verifast AI pricing breakdown shows the per-conversation maths.
How much does Verifast AI cost compared with its alternatives?
Verifast lists $99, $199 and $299 a month for 500, 2,000 and 5,000 conversations, and its Shopify listing shows Starter at $99 for 1,000 chats plus $0.05 each after that. Rep AI starts at $104 for 10,000 visitors, Zipchat at $80 for 750 AI replies, Alhena at $239 for 200 conversations, Octane AI at $50 and eesel at $299 for 500 credits. My guide to chatbot cost explains the different meters.
Which Verifast alternative is best for product recommendations?
Alhena AI and Manifest AI are the strongest on guided product discovery for large catalogs, and Rep AI adds proactive drop-off detection. If shoppers need a structured product finder, Octane AI's quizzes do that job directly. My Shopify shopping assistant guide covers how these tools read your catalog.
Which Verifast alternative also handles orders and support tickets?
Gorgias puts an AI Agent inside a full helpdesk that can cancel and edit orders. Rep AI sells a separate Support plan, and eesel works your helpdesk queue as an AI teammate that checks the Shopify order before it answers. My roundup of AI helpdesks for Shopify compares more options.
