How much does Verifast AI cost?

Verifast AI Chatbot & Helpdesk is a Shopify app from Verifast Tech Labs in Bangalore, launched on the App Store on December 11, 2023, with a 4.9 rating from 144 reviews. It is a sales-first chatbot: product recommendations, cart recovery nudges, order tracking and lead capture, on your website and, on higher plans, WhatsApp, Instagram and email. The homepage says it is "Trusted by 1000+ Brands" and has powered "100M+ conversations."

The App Store listing shows two plans. This is the price you are charged when you install through Shopify, billed in US dollars every 30 days.

The Verifast pricing section on the Shopify App Store, showing a Free plan with up to 200 chats a month and a Starter plan at $99 a month or $990 a year with $0.05 per additional chat and up to 1,000 chats a month, as taken from the Shopify App Store

The vendor site shows a longer ladder. Here is every plan from both pages in one table:

Every plan on the site comes with a 7-day free trial, and the FAQ says the trial "starts as and when the Verifast AI shopify app is downloaded." If you are comparing apps in the same category, my list of Shopify chatbot apps and the guide to AI chatbots for ecommerce show the neighbors.

What counts as a Verifast conversation?

This is the part of Verifast pricing I would read twice, because it changes every comparison you make.

The pricing page opens with "Don't pay per response anymore. Pay per unique user instead." The FAQ spells it out: "A conversation is a unique visitor identified from cookie based tracking," and a session "includes any number of messages exchanged between AI and a user in a 30 day period." Its own summary is 1 conversation = 1 user.

Hand-drawn diagram titled how Verifast counts, showing one shopper sending messages on day 1, day 8 and day 20 of a 30-day timeline, bracketed together as 1 conversation, with a side note that per-message tools would count 3

That is a generous unit. A shopper who asks about sizing on Monday, comes back about shipping on Friday and asks where the order is two weeks later is one conversation. On a tool that bills per AI reply, the same shopper could be a dozen billable events. Compare that with Zipchat's per-reply pricing or the per-conversation overage in StoreFAQ pricing and Verifast's unit is the friendliest of the three for chatty shoppers.

Two caveats before you lean on it. First, cookie tracking counts browsers, not people: a shopper who switches from phone to laptop, or clears cookies, can count twice. Second, the App Store listing says "chats," not "conversations." I would assume the two mean the same thing, but it is worth one question to Verifast support before you plan around it. If you are new to how these units differ, my guide to deflection vs resolution rate explains why vendors count so differently.

Why are there two Verifast price lists?

Here is where Verifast's pricing gets confusing, and I do not think it is on purpose. The App Store listing and the vendor site describe different plans, and the site disagrees with itself in one place.

The Verifast pricing page on verifast.ai in its default yearly view, showing Starter at $79 a month with 500 conversations, Growth at $159 with 2,000, Sales at $239 with 5,000, a custom Enterprise plan, and a comparison table listing $83, $169 and $249 per month on yearly billing plus a Conversion plan priced as a percentage of UTM value, as taken from Verifast

What does not line up:

  • Starter means two different things. On the App Store, Starter is $99 for 1,000 chats with $0.05 overage. On verifast.ai, Starter is $99 (or $79 yearly) for 500 conversations, with no overage price shown. The App Store Starter gives you twice the volume for the same $99.
  • Yearly prices disagree on the site. The yearly plan cards show $79, $159 and $239 a month. The comparison table under them shows "$/m (Yearly billing)" as 83, 169 and 249. I priced everything from the plan cards, because those are what the toggle shows, but I would confirm the number on your invoice.
  • The App Store's yearly discount is smaller. $990 a year works out to $82.50 a month, which is a 17% saving. The site's yearly cards are about 20% off.
  • There is no free plan on the site. The site starts at Starter; the free 200-chat plan only appears on the App Store.

The pricing FAQ also still refers to "two fixed paid plans" called Support and Sales, and lists three add-ons for them: live agent handover at $30 a month, a dedicated account manager at $45 and a custom integration at $60. On today's plan cards, handover and a success manager are already included on Sales. I read those add-ons as an option for smaller plans, priced from an older plan lineup, so ask before you count on them.

For a Shopify store, the App Store listing is the price that gets billed when you click Install, because Shopify handles the charge. The site plans are what Verifast quotes when you book a demo. If you are new to how app billing works on Shopify, my Shopify pricing breakdown covers the platform side, and the Shopify AI pricing guide covers Shopify's own AI tools.

What does one Verifast conversation really cost?

Divide each plan's monthly price by the conversations it includes and the ladder looks very different from the sticker prices.

Hand-drawn bar chart titled what one Verifast conversation costs, with Site Starter at $0.20, App Store Starter at $0.10, Site Growth at $0.10, Site Sales at $0.06 and a dark App Store extra chat bar at $0.05, noted as monthly price divided by included conversations

Two things jump out. The site's Starter plan is the most expensive way to buy a conversation, at about $0.20 each. And on the App Store plan, an extra chat at $0.05 is cheaper than a bundled one at about $0.10. That is unusual. In most tools I price, overage is the expensive way to buy usage; Chatty and StoreFAQ both charge more per unit past the allowance than inside it.

That gives a few break-even points worth knowing:

  • App Store Starter beats site Starter from the first conversation past 200. Same $99, twice the included volume, and overage after that.
  • At 2,000 shoppers a month, App Store Starter costs $149. That is $99 plus 1,000 extra chats at $0.05, against $199 for site Growth on monthly billing or $159 on yearly.
  • At 5,000 shoppers, App Store Starter costs $299. That is the same as site Sales on monthly billing. On yearly billing, site Sales at $239 becomes cheaper from about 3,800 shoppers a month.

The catch is features. The App Store Starter plan card lists "basic conversion triggers" but not cart recovery nudges, product page flows or live agent handover. On the site those sit on Growth and Sales. So for an answers-only bot, the cheap route is the App Store plan. For a sales bot with cart recovery and upselling, the plan is set by the feature you need. My chatbot ROI guide shows how to weigh that extra $100 to $200 a month against what the nudges bring back.

What will Verifast cost your store?

Plug your own numbers into the calculator. It prices every public Verifast plan for your monthly shopper count, filters out the plans that lack the feature you need and picks the cheapest one that fits.

Here is what the presets come out to on monthly billing:

StoreShoppers chatting a monthNeedsCheapest planMonthly bill
Small store150AnswersApp Store Free$0
Growing store800AnswersApp Store Starter$99
Busy, answers only2,500AnswersApp Store Starter$174
Busy, with cart nudges1,800Cart recoverySite Growth$199
Large, with handover4,500Live agent handoverSite Sales$299

The busy answers-only store is the instructive one: $174 on the App Store plan against $299 for site Sales, because the 1,500 extra chats cost only $75. The cart-nudge store shows the other side. It pays $199 for Growth even though App Store Starter would cover its volume for $139, because the nudges are the feature it is buying. Before you sign for the nudge plans, my notes on Black Friday support and holiday support spikes are worth a look, since a sale month is when a 2,000 or 5,000 cap gets tested.

What do merchants say about Verifast's billing?

The product reviews are strong. Of 144 reviews on the listing, 140 are five stars, and most describe the job Verifast is built for: answering detailed product questions before someone buys. EUME, a luggage brand in India using it for six months, wrote in October 2026:

Shopify

"Picking luggage online comes down to one question: “which size do I need?” Verifast's AI chatbot answers it brilliantly. It asks about trip length and travel style, then recommends the right cabin, check-in or trunk, and explains the differences between materials."

That is a good use of a sales bot, and it lines up with what I wrote about pre-purchase questions: sizing and fit questions are where a store loses buyers who never write in.

The two one-star reviews are both about billing, and they are the part a pricing post should not skip. The Active Story, a store in India four months in, wrote on October 21, 2026:

Shopify

"Informed the team 25 days before renewal that I wanted to leave. They kept delaying with promises of better pricing. Missed renewal by 7 hours, and they refused a refund despite knowing I wanted to cancel."

Meat and More, a store in Saudi Arabia, wrote in August 2026 that it was charged after removing the app. To be fair to Verifast, it replied that "Shopify bills app subscriptions on a one-month delay," which is a real feature of how Shopify app billing works. Two reviews out of 144 is a small share. But the lesson for your budget is practical: cancel in writing and uninstall well before renewal. The FAQ says to email team@verifast.tech, and on a yearly plan, missing the date means a full year. That is one reason I would start on monthly billing until the bot has proved itself.

Is Verifast AI worth it?

For a store that sells on conversation, yes, and on price per shopper it is one of the better deals in the category. A unit that covers a shopper for 30 days, $0.05 overage on the App Store plan, product training on the whole catalog even on Free, and answers in all languages is a lot for $99. The reviews from beauty, helmet and luggage brands describe the exact case: a catalog where buyers need help choosing. If you want to see how that compares with other sales assistants, my guide to AI shopping assistants covers the category.

Where I would be more careful is support. Verifast's support features (order tracking, returns automation, intent-based escalation) sit inside a chatbot on your storefront. Live agent handover is on the Sales plan, and CRM and shipping integrations are too. If most of your volume arrives by email, social DMs or a helpdesk like Gorgias, a storefront bot only sees part of it. Email and Instagram AI are listed on Enterprise.

So the fit looks like this:

You arePlan I would pickWhy

For a wider view, my roundups of AI for Shopify support and Shopify live chat apps cover the neighbors. On cost alone, Tidio pricing is the closest well-known comparison.

Verifast vs eesel on cost

eesel is an AI teammate platform, and for a Shopify store the relevant teammate is the AI helpdesk teammate. It does a different job from Verifast, and on cash it costs more per unit, so the comparison only makes sense once you know which job you are paying for.

The eesel figures are from its pricing page today: free with 100 credits, then $299 a month for 500 credits up to $1,749 for 5,000, with two months free on a yearly plan. On a storefront chat with 2,500 shoppers a month, Verifast costs $174 and eesel would cost far more. If your goal is selling on the product page, that gap is the answer and Verifast is the right buy.

The gap closes when the work is the inbox. Question Beauty, a cosmetics brand on Gorgias and Shopify, gets mostly short messages from Messenger, email and chat, often just a product name and "price?". Between August 8 and September 8, 2026, eesel handled about 990 Gorgias tickets, sent about 960 replies and looked up about 290 Shopify orders, closing about 280 tickets without a person. Refunds, complaints and wholesale requests went to the team with a note attached.

For smaller teams that want to stay in control, Koffer.ch, a Swiss luggage retailer on Freshdesk, has eesel draft replies in whichever of four languages the customer wrote in, for the team to send. And STIL Classics gets every Gorgias ticket with the order already checked.

My guides to WISMO automation and automating ecommerce support cover that half of the work.

You can also run both, and for many stores I would. Let Verifast sell on the product page, and put eesel on the tickets in your helpdesk, whether that is Gorgias, Zendesk or Freshdesk. My piece on an AI layer vs built-in AI explains why that split tends to hold up.

Try eesel for your Shopify store's inbox

If you are pricing Verifast because shoppers keep asking the same things, check where those questions land. If they are on the product page, a sales bot fits. If they are in your inbox as "where is my order?", "can I change my address?" or "price?" under an Instagram post, eesel connects to your Shopify store in under 30 minutes, reads your catalog, orders and policies, and answers or drafts inside your helpdesk with the order already checked. Each ticket or chat is one credit however long it runs, and you can test it on your real tickets with 100 free credits first. Try eesel and see what it would have written for last week's tickets.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Verifast AI cost?

On the Shopify App Store listing, Verifast has a free plan with up to 200 chats a month and a Starter plan at $99 a month or $990 a year, with 1,000 chats and $0.05 per extra chat. Its own pricing page lists Starter at $99, Growth at $199 and Sales at $299 a month, or $79, $159 and $239 a month on yearly billing, plus a custom Enterprise plan. My Shopify chatbots roundup compares it with similar apps.

Is Verifast AI free?

Yes. The free plan on the Shopify App Store covers up to 200 chats a month, AI training on all products, 24/7 AI answers in all languages, custom bot styling and product recommendations. Paid plans add bot flows, order tracking and lead capture. Every paid plan starts with a 7-day free trial, which Verifast says begins when you install the app.

What counts as a conversation in Verifast pricing?

Verifast's pricing FAQ defines a conversation as one unique visitor, tracked by cookie, over 30 days, with any number of messages inside it. So a shopper who chats three times in a month counts once. That is a different unit from tools that bill per AI reply, so compare the unit before you compare the sticker price.

What does Verifast charge for extra chats?

The App Store Starter plan charges $0.05 for each chat past its 1,000 a month. The plans on verifast.ai list conversation limits of 500, 2,000 and 5,000 a month but no overage price, so ask Verifast what happens at the cap before you pick a site plan. My chatbot cost guide covers how other tools handle overage.

Which Verifast plan has live agent handover?

On the verifast.ai pricing cards, live agent handover first appears on the Sales plan at $299 a month, or $239 on yearly billing. The pricing FAQ also lists handover as a $30 a month add-on for its fixed plans. If handing chats to a person matters, read my notes on human handoff in chat before you choose.

How do I cancel Verifast and avoid another charge?

Verifast's FAQ says to email team@verifast.tech to cancel, and both one-star reviews on its listing are about charges after a merchant wanted to leave. Uninstall the app in Shopify as well, and do it well before your renewal date. Verifast's reply to one review says Shopify bills app subscriptions on a one-month delay, so expect one more invoice after you remove it.

Is Verifast cheaper than other Shopify AI chatbots?

Per unit, often yes: $0.05 per extra chat on the App Store Starter plan is low for the category, and one chat covers a shopper for 30 days. Compare Chatty pricing and SmartBot pricing for the same job. For support tickets in a helpdesk, eesel on Shopify is priced per ticket instead.

Does Verifast AI work with my helpdesk?

The App Store listing says Verifast hands over to live chat when needed and connects to 50+ tools including CRMs, shipping and helpdesks, and the site puts CRM and shipping integrations on the Sales plan. If your team already works out of Gorgias or Zendesk, an agent that lives inside the helpdesk, like eesel for Gorgias, keeps every reply in one queue.
