What Chizy costs on each plan
I build AI agents at eesel, so when I look at a chat app's pricing I want to know one thing first: what is the meter attached to? With most Shopify chat apps the meter is chats, replies or resolutions. Chizy is different. The meter is how many products the AI learns, and the chat count is not metered at all.
Here is every plan from chizy.io/pricing and the Chizy docs pricing page, both checked on 22 October 2026.
| Plan | Price | Products AI learns | AI replies | What it adds | Trial |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Up to 200 | Unlimited | Core AI features | Not needed |
| Starter | $19/month | Up to 1,000 | Unlimited | Unlimited chat history, re-sync anytime, custom handover, AI on WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram, sales proactive flows | 14 days |
| Growth | $69/month | Up to 5,000 | Unlimited | Learns blog posts and live product pages, advanced integrations, priority support | 14 days |
| Scale | $199/month | Up to 25,000 | Unlimited | Priority support, prioritized feature requests | 14 days |
| Enterprise | From $399/month | 25,000+ | Unlimited | Dedicated Success Manager, prioritized feature requests | Talk to sales |
The "core AI features" every plan gets, Free included, are a solid list: 24/7 AI sales follow-up, directing shoppers to WhatsApp, email or phone, chatbot branding, order tracking, in-chat add-to-cart, a basic proactive chat flow, live chat with human handover and 90-day chat history. The docs version of the list also names the Shopify Inbox integration.

Two small mismatches between Chizy's own pages are worth knowing. The pricing site says Enterprise "starts at $399/month", while the docs show a flat $399 with unlimited products. And the Shopify App Store listing shows the price as just "Free", with no paid tiers listed, because you select a plan after installing. If you compare apps inside the Shopify admin, you will not see the $19 to $199 plans until Chizy is on your store.

All prices are in USD and billed through Shopify, so Chizy appears on your Shopify invoice rather than as a separate card charge.
Your catalog sets the bill, not your traffic
This is the part most people miss on a first read. Because AI chats are unlimited, the only thing that moves you up Chizy's ladder on cost alone is the number of products you want the AI to know about.

Chizy's own FAQ is direct about it: "There are no AI message or conversation caps, fair-use quotas, or per-conversation overage fees." It also confirms that limits count Shopify products, not variants, so a hoodie in four sizes and three colours counts once.
Here is how that plays out on stores of different shapes, using only the core features:
| Store | Products | AI chats a month | Plan | Monthly cost | Cost per AI chat |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small candle brand | 120 | 3,000 | Free | $0 | $0 |
| Apparel store, many variants | 800 (6,000 variants) | 1,500 | Starter | $19 | 1.3¢ |
| Specialty food shop | 1,200 | 60 | Growth | $69 | $1.15 |
| Parts and accessories store | 9,000 | 400 | Scale | $199 | 50¢ |
| Busy store at Black Friday | 900 | 12,000 | Starter | $19 | 0.16¢ |
Look at the specialty food row. A store with a big catalog and quiet traffic pays more per chat than any usage-based app would charge. Now look at the Black Friday row. A store with a modest catalog and a huge spike pays the same $19 it paid in March.
That second row is the one I care about most from my work at eesel. In one cost analysis eesel prepared for a German ecommerce brand handling about 1,000 tickets a month, per-resolution pricing turned a normal month into roughly four times the bill once a Black Friday week quadrupled the volume. Flat pricing kept it identical. Chizy has the same property on the chat side, and for stores with a holiday support spike it is the strongest thing about the model.
What happens if your catalog outgrows your plan? Chizy says the plan stays active and the AI keeps learning up to its limit; "Additional products are not learned until you select a larger plan." Upgrades are always started by you, never automatic. That is good news for your budget, but it means the AI can quietly not know about your newest products. If you add products often, check what the AI has learned after each big drop.
Find your Chizy plan
This calculator does the sizing for you. Enter your product count (not variants) and a rough monthly chat number, tick the features you need, and it picks the cheapest Chizy plan that covers you, with the yearly cost and what each chat works out to.
Play with the "Big catalog, quiet chat" preset and then tick the Zendesk box on a 150-product store. Those are the two ways people end up paying more than they expected: a wide catalog with little traffic, or one feature that drags a tiny store from $0 to $69.
What each upgrade actually unlocks
Catalog size is half the story. The other half is that Chizy gates specific capabilities by plan, and some of them matter more to a support team than the product count does.

Here is what changes at each step, and who should care:
| Upgrade | What you get | Who it matters for |
|---|---|---|
| Free to Starter ($19) | AI replies on WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram; custom human handover; re-sync store data anytime; unlimited chat history; sales proactive flows | Stores that sell through social DMs, or that change products often |
| Starter to Growth ($69) | Learning from blog posts and live product pages; Zendesk ticket creation; chat on non-Shopify sites; priority support | Stores with a Zendesk inbox, a headless storefront, or content-heavy product guidance |
| Growth to Scale ($199) | Room for 25,000 products; prioritized feature requests | Large catalogs |
| Scale to Enterprise (from $399) | 25,000+ products; a Dedicated Success Manager | Very large catalogs that want a named contact |
Two of these deserve a closer look.
Re-sync on Starter. "Re-sync store data to AI anytime" is a Starter feature, which suggests the Free plan's knowledge refresh is more limited. If your prices, stock or policies change weekly, that alone can justify $19. An AI that quotes last month's return window is the kind of AI hallucination that creates tickets instead of preventing them.
Zendesk on Growth. Chizy's Zendesk integration opens a ticket when a shopper asks for a person or the AI cannot answer confidently, with the customer's name, email, a short summary and the full transcript attached. It is a tidy handoff. But it is listed as "Available on the Growth plan and above", and the docs add that if you downgrade below Growth, Chizy stops creating new Zendesk tickets. So a 150-product store that runs support in Zendesk pays $69, not $0. The same Growth gate applies to non-Shopify websites.
If social channels are your reason to upgrade, my guides to WhatsApp support for ecommerce and Instagram chatbots cover what to expect from AI in DMs.
What "unlimited" means in practice
Unlimited AI conversations is a real promise here, written into Chizy's FAQ, and it removes the most stressful part of most chat app bills. Merchants clearly notice. Several older reviews on the Shopify listing talk about getting a lot for nothing:
"This a true AI chat app that I will pay for, but it is free. I want to buy you guys some coffees."
That review is from April 2026; today the Free plan is still $0 but capped at 200 learned products, so bigger stores will land on a paid tier.
Unlimited chats does not mean unlimited answer quality, though. The AI is only as good as what it has learned, and on lower plans it learns less: fewer products, no blog content until Growth. One merchant put the practical side plainly:
"Great product and great support. The AI works really well, but stay on top of it you will have to train it."
The other thing to test before trusting any chat widget is speed. Chizy's one 1-star review, from a store in the UAE, reported slower mobile load times; Chizy's public reply pointed to other scripts on the site instead. I would not read much into a single review against 130 five-star ones, but I would still run a page-speed check before and after installing. My guide to testing an AI agent covers what else to check before customers see it.
One more nuance: "unlimited" is about AI replies. Chizy does not publish seat counts or per-agent prices for its live chat inbox on any plan, so if several people will answer handed-off chats, confirm how that works on your plan.
Hidden costs and fine print
The monthly price is most of what you pay. These are the edges I would check before installing:
- The listing shows only "Free". Paid plans are chosen inside the app after install, so the App Store price line understates what a larger store pays.
- Catalog overflow is silent. Products past your limit are simply not learned until you upgrade. Re-check after a big product drop.
- One feature can cost $69. Zendesk handoff, non-Shopify sites and blog learning all start at Growth, whatever your catalog size.
- Chat history on Free is 90 days. Unlimited history starts on Starter.
- No published annual price. Budget 12 times the monthly fee: $228 a year on Starter, $828 on Growth, $2,388 on Scale.
- Trials are for "eligible merchants". Every paid plan has a 14-day trial through Shopify Billing, but the wording leaves room for exceptions.
- Setup help is free, mostly. Chizy offers free setup and customization support, but "if your request needs advanced work with an additional fee, we'll let you know."
- Enterprise is a floor. The site says "starts at $399"; the docs say $399. Get a written quote for your catalog.
None of these is a trap. They are just the reasons the plan you end up on is often one step above the one you picked from the pricing page.
Chizy pricing vs other Shopify chat apps
Chizy's model sits at one end of the spectrum: unlimited chats, priced by catalog. Here is how the billable unit compares across apps I have priced from each vendor's own page.
| App | Billable unit | Entry paid plan | What drives upgrades | Full breakdown |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chizy | Products learned | $19 for 1,000 products | Catalog size and features | This post |
| SmartBot | Products in catalog | $30 a month | Catalog size | SmartBot pricing |
| BestChat | AI chats per month | $10 for 300 chats | Chats, seats, catalog | BestChat pricing |
| Chatty | AI conversations | $19.99 for 100 | Extra conversations | Chatty pricing |
| Chatway | AI resolutions | $39 a month | $0.50 per AI resolution | Chatway pricing |
| Zipchat | AI replies | $80 a month | Reply allowance | Zipchat pricing |
| Shopify Inbox | Free with Shopify | $0 | Not applicable | Shopify Inbox |
The pattern is simple. If your traffic is high and your catalog is small, Chizy is close to unbeatable. If your catalog is large and your traffic is low, a usage-based app such as BestChat can come out cheaper, because you are not paying for products nobody asks about. How eesel pricing compares
Comparing Chizy and eesel on price per chat is a bit lopsided, and I would rather say so than pretend otherwise. Chizy is a sales-first storefront chat widget with a live chat inbox. eesel is an AI helpdesk teammate: it works the support queue in your helpdesk, email tickets included, plus a website chat bubble, and it pulls Shopify order data into each reply.

Here is the live eesel pricing next to Chizy, checked 22 October 2026:
| Chizy | eesel | |
|---|---|---|
| Billable unit | Products the AI learns | One credit = one ticket or one chat, however long |
| Free | Ongoing, up to 200 products | 100 credits to try everything, no card |
| Entry paid plan | $19/month | $299/month for 500 credits |
| Larger plans | $69, $199, Enterprise from $399 | Up to $1,749 for 5,000 credits, custom above |
| Busy month | Same price, chats unlimited | Agents pause at the limit, or turn on overage at $0.80 per credit with a cap you set |
| Seats | Not published | Unlimited agents and seats |
| Channels | Storefront chat, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram | Helpdesk, Slack, chat bubble, email, browser extension |
| Annual | Not published | Two months free when you pay a year upfront |

So on pure chat cost, Chizy is far cheaper, and if your support load is product questions on the storefront, it is hard to argue with $0 to $69.
eesel earns its price when the work is in the inbox. Question Beauty, a cosmetics brand on Gorgias and Shopify, uses eesel on Messenger, email and chat: between 8 August and 8 September 2026 it handled about 990 tickets, looked up about 290 Shopify orders before answering, and closed about 280 without a person. Beautek runs it as the website chat on beautek.de, answering 77 chats live in German in a month (more on that in my multilingual ecommerce support guide) and turning 20 of them into Zendesk tickets for the team, the same chat-to-ticket handoff Chizy reserves for Growth.
Catalog size does not change eesel's bill either. Cape Coffee Beans sells more than a thousand products that change all the time, and its eesel agent searches the Shopify catalogue, past Zendesk tickets and Google Drive from inside each ticket, about 120 knowledge searches in a month.
Which Chizy plan I would pick
My take, by situation:
- Under 200 products, storefront chat only: Free. It is a generous plan, and there is no chat meter to watch.
- Under 1,000 products, or you sell through Instagram and WhatsApp DMs: Starter at $19. The re-sync and social channels are worth it on their own.
- You run support in Zendesk, or sell on a non-Shopify storefront: Growth at $69, whatever your catalog size.
- 5,000 to 25,000 products: Scale at $199, and check that the AI actually learned the long tail.
- Over 25,000 products: Ask Chizy for a written Enterprise quote before you commit.
If your chats keep turning into "where is my order" questions, the deciding factor is whether the AI can see the order and act on it. My guide to WISMO automation covers that queue, and the deflection vs resolution explainer covers how to tell whether a chat app is actually solving tickets or just answering them.
Try eesel for your Shopify store
Chizy is a strong pick for selling in chat. If the questions that eat your team's day are order changes, refunds and delivery problems landing in Gorgias or Zendesk (see my Shopify helpdesk roundup), eesel's AI helpdesk teammate works there instead: it connects to Shopify and your helpdesk in a few minutes, checks the order before it writes, and hands anything it should not touch to your team with a note. You can test it against your past tickets before a single customer sees a reply, and start with 100 free credits.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Chizy cost?
Chizy pricing has five plans on chizy.io: Free at $0, Starter at $19 a month, Growth at $69, Scale at $199 and Enterprise from $399. Each plan is sized by how many products the AI learns (200, 1,000, 5,000, 25,000 and 25,000+), and AI conversations are unlimited on all of them. For a wider view, see my roundup of Shopify AI chatbots.
Is Chizy free?
Yes. The Free plan covers up to 200 learned products with unlimited AI replies, order tracking, in-chat add-to-cart and live chat handover, and keeps 90 days of chat history. The Shopify App Store listing shows only "Free" because paid plans are picked after install. If you only need a free chat box, Shopify Inbox is the other option to compare.
Does Chizy charge per conversation or per AI reply?
No. Chizy's pricing page says there are no AI message or conversation caps, no fair-use quotas and no per-conversation overage fees on any plan. That is unusual among Shopify chat apps; my Chatty pricing and Zipchat pricing breakdowns show the usage-based alternative.
Do product variants count toward Chizy's plan limits?
No. Chizy counts Shopify products, not variants, so a shirt in five sizes and three colours is one product. If your catalog goes past your plan's limit, the plan stays active but the extra products are not learned until you upgrade. My guide to Shopify data in AI chat explains why that matters for answer quality.
Which Chizy plan do I need for Zendesk or WhatsApp?
AI replies on WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram start on Starter at $19 a month. Creating Zendesk tickets when the AI hands off, and putting the chat on a non-Shopify site, need Growth at $69 or above, per Chizy's integration docs. If Zendesk is your main inbox, my Zendesk and Shopify guide covers the wider setup.
Does Chizy have a free trial or annual pricing?
Every paid Chizy plan has a 14-day trial for eligible merchants, run through Shopify billing. Chizy does not publish an annual price or yearly discount, so budget 12 times the monthly fee. Compare that with how eesel pricing handles a year upfront: two months free.
Is Chizy cheaper than eesel?
For a storefront chat widget, yes: Chizy starts free and tops out at $199 before Enterprise, while eesel starts at $299 a month for 500 credits. They do different jobs, though. eesel is an AI helpdesk teammate that works email tickets in Gorgias or Zendesk as well as chat, and Question Beauty uses it to look up Shopify orders before replying.
