Chizy ("Chizy: AI Chatbot & AI Chat") is a Shopify AI chatbot built to sell first and support second. It learns your products, pages and policies on install, answers shoppers in 100+ languages, shows product cards with an add-to-cart button inside the chat, tracks orders, and hands a chat to your team when a shopper asks for a person. It holds a 5.0 rating from 131 Shopify reviews and a Built for Shopify badge, less than 14 months after launch.
The pricing is the unusual part. AI chats are unlimited on every plan, including Free; what you pay for is how many products the AI learns: Free up to 200, Starter $19 for 1,000, Growth $69 for 5,000, Scale $199 for 25,000, Enterprise from $399. The catch is in the reviews, not the price: 97 of the 131 were written in the first week, so the 5.0 mostly rates setup and Chizy's support team. My score: 4 out of 5, an easy first install for a small or mid-size store, with a few things to test before you trust it alone overnight.
If your support also runs through email and a helpdesk, eesel's AI helpdesk teammate covers both the chat and the queue. BEAUTEK runs it as the website chat and on Zendesk: in one month it answered 77 website chats and turned 20 of them into Zendesk tickets for the team.
I work eesel's support queue every day, so I read chat tools by what happens after the bot answers. In a real-traffic trial for a German jewelry brand on Zendesk and Shopify (about 1,000 tickets a month in 8 languages), agents sent only 12% of AI drafts as written. Most of their edits cut long answers down to one to three sentences; only about 5% fixed something the AI got wrong. Tone and length shape whether an AI answer helps, which is why I spend time below on Chizy's settings for both.
For this review I read Chizy's Shopify App Store listing, its pricing page, its documentation and all 131 Shopify reviews. I did not run Chizy on a live store, so behavior below comes from Chizy's own material and from merchants who wrote reviews.
What is Chizy?
Chizy is an AI chatbot and live chat app built for Shopify by a developer of the same name based in Singapore. It launched on the App Store on September 4, 2025, and its pitch is in the listing headline: "Super Smart AI chatbot (unlimited AI chat) trained on your store." Its own site calls it "an AI sales and support chatbot for Shopify," in that order, and the product follows the order: the features that get the most space are product recommendations and add-to-cart.

It sits in the same aisle as the apps in my Shopify AI chatbot list: a widget on the storefront that answers first, with a person behind it. Its closest neighbors are BestChat and Zipchat.
Tidio is the bigger name in the same aisle, and Shopify's own free Shopify Inbox is the baseline to beat. Chizy even integrates with Inbox, which a few reviewers use to get chat notifications on their phone.

How Chizy works
Chizy has three jobs: learn the store, sell and answer in the chat, and get a person in when the AI should stop. The reviews love the first two. The third is where I'd spend my setup time.
What the AI learns from
On install, Chizy pulls in your catalog (names, descriptions, variants, prices), collections, store pages and policies. Per its setup guide, the quick pass takes seconds and the advanced pass up to 10 minutes for a store with about 5,000 products.

This is the part merchants praise most. A Nigerian store wrote after 8 days:
"The bot understood the website without requiring a tedious information-dumping ritual, which is frankly the bare minimum we should expect from technology in this century."
On top of the sync you add a Custom Knowledge Base, by typing entries or importing a file. Chizy's own training guide is one of the better ones I've read from a chat app: one topic per entry, dates on every promotion so the bot stops mentioning Black Friday in December, customer wording rather than internal jargon. You can also tell it to skip whole collections, like wholesale or age-gated products.
Two things are missing from the source list. Past support conversations aren't one of them, so the answers your team has refined in email over two years don't reach the bot unless you copy them in, the gap my guide to training AI on past tickets covers. And blog posts and live product pages are only learned on Growth and up. A US poster store found the edges early:
"If you're looking for specific answers, then you have to enter specific information, otherwise you'll go round in circles."
The persona settings matter more than they look. You pick the tone, the response length (concise or detailed) and how often emojis appear. Given what I saw in that jewelry trial, where agents cut most AI drafts down by two-thirds, I'd start on concise and only lengthen it if shoppers ask follow-ups.
Selling and answering in the chat
Ask Chizy for "running shoes in size 42" and it replies with product cards that have View details and Add to cart buttons, so the shopper never leaves the chat. That's the feature behind most of the five-star reviews, and the territory of my guide to pre-purchase questions.

Around that sit the sales extras: proactive flows that open the chat with an offer (basic on Free, full "sales proactive flows" from Starter), a smart follow-up that nudges a shopper who stopped replying up to 3 times, and a setting for whether to recommend out-of-stock products. A Dutch footwear store noted it "can also give a size recommendation" (HUB Footwear). If you're weighing the sales side, my notes on AI upselling and proactive support are the companion reads.
For support, order tracking is the useful piece. You choose what a shopper must give to see an order: email plus order number (the default), phone plus order number, or the order number alone. I'd leave the default; order number alone means anyone with a packing slip can read the order. The pattern is the one in my guide to connecting Shopify order data. One limit from the listing's data access panel: Chizy reads order history for the last 60 days.
Multilingual support is automatic: Chizy detects the shopper's language and answers in it. A Slovenian store says Chizy's team set the agent name to work across Slovenian, English, German and Croatian (Bevann d.o.o.). My notes on multilingual live chat cover what to test before you rely on it.
Handing a chat to a person
This is the part I'd test hardest, and Chizy has thought about it more than most chat apps in its price range. Per its live chat docs, the handover fires when a shopper asks for a person, or when the AI isn't confident and the shopper agrees to be connected.

When it fires, the AI stops replying, tells the shopper they've been transferred, and your team gets a web push, an email, or both. The conversation lands in Chizy Inbox with a "Waiting for Agents" badge; an agent clicks Join Conversation and replies with product cards, discount cards and saved quick replies.

The detail that decides how this goes on your store is the AI Resume Timeout. If nobody joins within 1 to 15 minutes (default 5), the AI takes the chat back so the shopper isn't left waiting. That's kind to the shopper, and it's also the moment a frustrated customer who asked for a human gets the bot again. From the support side, I'd set it based on whether someone is actually watching: short when the team is online, and outside hours turn on Alternative Contact Suggestions so the AI offers your email, phone or WhatsApp instead. My guides to chatbot escalation and human handoff in chat go deeper on that choice.
A US store described the outcome you want:
"It has done a good job answering customers' questions and sending customers to us when there isn't a great automated answer for a very specific question."
A few setup notes from the docs. Turning Live Chat on also turns on a pre-chat survey with a required email field, so you can always follow up; the reasoning is in my note on collecting contact details. Live Chat and the Shopify Inbox integration can't run at the same time, so pick one. And email notifications are store-wide: every address on the list gets every alert.

If your team lives in Zendesk, the Zendesk integration opens a ticket with the customer's name and email, a short summary and the full transcript as a text file. It's on Growth and up, and the AI keeps chatting while your team follows up by email. AI replies on WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram start on Starter; my guide to WhatsApp support for ecommerce covers that channel. There's no Gorgias integration in Chizy's docs.
Chizy pricing
Chizy prices by catalog size. Every plan has unlimited AI conversations, and its pricing FAQ is explicit that there are "no AI message or conversation caps, fair-use quotas, or per-conversation overage fees." These are the vendor's prices from Chizy's pricing page, in USD, billed through Shopify.

| Plan | Price | Products AI learns | AI chats | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 200 | Unlimited | Recommendations, add-to-cart, order tracking, live chat handover, 90-day chat history |
| Starter | $19/mo | 1,000 | Unlimited | Unlimited chat history, re-sync anytime, custom handover, WhatsApp/Messenger/Instagram AI, sales proactive flows |
| Growth | $69/mo | 5,000 | Unlimited | Learns blog posts and live product pages, advanced integrations (Zendesk, non-Shopify sites), priority support |
| Scale | $199/mo | 25,000 | Unlimited | Prioritized feature requests |
| Enterprise | From $399/mo | 25,000+ | Unlimited | Dedicated success manager |
Variants don't count toward the limit: a shirt in five sizes is one product. If your catalog outgrows the plan, Chizy keeps running and simply stops learning the extra products until you upgrade. Paid plans have a 14-day trial for eligible merchants. No yearly price is listed.

Two things to know before you budget. First, the paid tiers look new: through spring 2026, reviewers called the app free (a Turkish store hoped Chizy wouldn't "charge an exorbitant price when they switch to the paid version"), Chizy's refund policy still says no payments are processed, and the App Store pricing panel shows only "Free." The pricing page and the pricing plan doc both list the five plans, so I'd treat those as current and check the plan screen in the app after install.
Second, the feature gates matter more than the product counts for a lot of stores. A 150-product store that wants Zendesk tickets is on Growth at $69, not Free. That's why I built the finder below.
What I like about this model is what it leaves out. With a chat-capped app like BestChat, a busy holiday week can run you past your plan; with Chizy, a Black Friday spike costs the same as a quiet Tuesday. My holiday spike guide covers the staffing side of that week.
What Shopify merchants say in their Chizy reviews
The headline number is as strong as it gets: 130 of 131 reviews are five-star. The praise clusters around three things: setup that takes minutes, answers that sound like the store, and a support team that does real work. Support staff get thanked by name over and over (Jade most of all, then Sophie, Evelynn and Kevin), and the reviews describe work beyond answering tickets: fixing a CSS conflict that turned the chat input black (WiCKED LABS AU), repositioning the widget so it didn't overlap the page on mobile, and building custom fixes. A Spanish store went the furthest:
"They took our technical suggestions seriously, reviewed Shopify GraphQL logic we shared, and implemented fixes that made the chatbot much more accurate for our business."
That kind of hands-on onboarding is the most consistent theme in the reviews, and for a small store without a developer it's worth a lot. Chizy's site says setup support is free, with a fee only for "advanced work," which it says it flags up front.
When the reviews were written
Each Shopify review shows how long the store had used the app when it wrote the review, so I went through all 131. The pattern is steep: 63 were written within the first day, 97 within the first week, and only 6 came from stores past four months.

Part of that is the app's age: it launched in September 2025, and 124 of its 131 reviews are from 2026, so few stores could have used it for a year yet. Part is how the App Store works, since it prompts reviews early and Chizy's support team is often in the chat during setup. Neither is a red flag. It does mean the 5.0 rates installation and onboarding more than month six, and that's the stretch I'd test myself.
The critical notes
There's one negative review, and it's about speed. A UAE store wrote after two months that "the site takes 20 seconds longer to load on the mobile version" and gave this advice:
"Test it on a different site than the live version, otherwise you could ruin your conversion rate."
Chizy replied the same day with a PageSpeed analysis arguing that Klaviyo, Facebook and Instagram scripts were the main load, that Chizy appeared only in the lower-impact warnings, and that the 20 seconds was likely browser caching. I can't settle that from outside, but the advice holds for any chat widget: run PageSpeed on mobile before and after you enable it.
The other critical notes sit inside five-star reviews. An Italian store said the Shopify Inbox integration "didn't work very well at first" until Chizy's team stepped in (Peak Academy). A US store said "stay on top of it you will have to train it" (4 Mavericks).
A Spanish store asked for the admin panel in Spanish (Merceria Marieta); it's English only. And a March request for Facebook and Instagram (JCS Wildlife) has since shipped on Starter, which fits the reviews' picture of a team that builds what merchants ask for.
What I couldn't find: any reviews on Reddit, G2 or X. Every merchant voice here is from the Shopify App Store, which is normal for an app this new and worth keeping in mind.
Pros and cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Unlimited AI chats on every plan, including Free | Paid tiers look new; the refund policy and App Store panel still say free |
| Learns products, pages and policies on install | Past support conversations aren't a source; blog posts are Growth-only |
| In-chat product cards with add-to-cart | 97 of 131 reviews written in the first week |
| Careful handover: push and email alerts, resume timeout, Continue with AI button | Zendesk tickets and non-Shopify sites need Growth at $69 |
| Hands-on vendor support, thanked by name in dozens of reviews | Analytics and insights still "coming soon" in the docs |
| Built for Shopify badge, 100+ shopper languages | One review reports slower mobile load; admin is English only |
Who Chizy fits, and who should skip it
Pick Chizy if you run a Shopify store where chat is mostly pre-sale questions, you want an AI that recommends products and adds them to the cart, and you don't want to count messages. A store under 200 products can run it free, and a 1,000-product store gets WhatsApp and Instagram for $19. If you're weighing it against Chatway or the other apps in my Shopify chatbot apps roundup, the unlimited chats are the deciding difference.
Look harder if you have a large catalog and quiet chat. At 6,000 products you're on Scale at $199 a month however few chats you get, and a chat-capped app like BestChat or a catalog-light one like StoreFAQ may cost less. Also look harder if you want reporting on how often the bot resolves chats without a person. Chizy's analytics are still listed as coming soon, so you'd be reading transcripts; my chatbot analytics guide covers what to track meanwhile.
Skip it, or pair it, if most of your support is post-purchase email, returns and social DMs handled in a helpdesk. Chizy's Zendesk link hands chats into a queue, but it doesn't work the queue. If your team is buried in WISMO tickets by email, an ecommerce helpdesk with AI inside it is the tool that touches that work.
My Chizy verdict: 4 out of 5
Chizy is one of the easiest AI chats to start on Shopify: install it, let it read the store, and it answers and sells within minutes, with no message meter to watch. The handover is better designed than its price suggests, the training advice in its docs is sound, and the support team is the strongest theme in 131 reviews. I take a point off for what the reviews can't tell you yet (how it holds up after six months), for pricing pages that don't fully agree with each other, and for Zendesk and blog learning sitting behind the $69 plan. Compared with the field in my Shopify AI chatbot list, it's the pick for stores that want an AI sales chat without a usage bill, as long as you test the handover and page speed before you go live. My checklist for testing an AI agent works for a chat bot too.
How eesel compares for Shopify support
eesel is an AI helpdesk teammate rather than a storefront widget. It joins the helpdesk where your tickets already live, through integrations like the one for Zendesk or Gorgias, and connects to Shopify for orders and the catalog.
It can also answer on the store through a chat bubble, so the chat and the queue run on one set of knowledge. It learns from past tickets, macros and docs as well as store content, and you decide which topics go to a person.
What that looks like at real eesel customers:
- BEAUTEK runs eesel as the website chat on beautek.de and on Zendesk, in German. Between August 8 and September 8, 2026 it answered 77 website chats live and created 20 Zendesk tickets from chat, most of them sales leads, while drafting replies on about 110 Zendesk tickets for the team to send. It's the same chat-to-ticket idea as Chizy's Growth integration, with the AI also working the ticket.
- Question Beauty runs eesel on Gorgias and Shopify. In the same month it handled about 990 tickets, sent about 960 replies and looked up about 290 Shopify orders before answering. Refunds, returns and complaints go to a person with an internal note.
- Cape Coffee Beans runs it on Zendesk and Shopify across a catalog of more than a thousand products, and every answer links the product page, past ticket or Shopify order it used.
| Chizy | eesel | |
|---|---|---|
| Main job | Storefront AI sales and support chat | Helpdesk tickets plus storefront chat |
| Learns from | Products, collections, pages, policies, your entries | Store data, past tickets, macros, help center, docs |
| Where people answer | Chizy Inbox, or Zendesk tickets on Growth | Your existing helpdesk |
| Email and helpdesk queue | Not worked by the AI | Drafts or sends replies inside tickets |
| Testing | Test chats during setup | Simulate on past tickets before going live |
| Pricing | Free to $199 a month, Enterprise from $399 | From $299 a month for 500 credits |
On price, I'll be straight: a store that only needs a storefront chat pays far less on Chizy, and its Free plan has no chat cap at all. eesel's $299 plan counts a ticket or a chat as 1 credit. It earns its cost when the email and helpdesk queue is where your team's day goes.
For that comparison, see my best AI helpdesks for Shopify, the head-to-head of eesel vs Gorgias AI, and my guide to AI for Zendesk.
Try eesel on your Shopify support
If Chizy handles your storefront well but tickets still pile up in Zendesk or Gorgias, that queue is where eesel helps. It reads the Shopify order, checks the policy, and drafts or sends the reply inside the ticket, and requests you'd rather a person handled, like refunds, go to your team with a note. You can run it against your past tickets first and see what it would have said. You start with 100 free credits, no card.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Chizy worth it? What does an honest Chizy review conclude?
For a Shopify store that wants an AI sales chat on the storefront without counting messages, yes. My Chizy review scores it 4 out of 5: unlimited AI chats on every plan, a careful handover design and very hands-on vendor support, held back by reviews that mostly rate the first week and a few features (analytics, Zendesk) that are either coming soon or Growth-only. Compare it with other Shopify AI chatbots before you install.
How much does Chizy cost?
Per Chizy's pricing page: Free for up to 200 products, Starter $19 a month for 1,000, Growth $69 for 5,000, Scale $199 for 25,000, and Enterprise from $399 a month for larger catalogs. Every plan has unlimited AI chats, so Chizy pricing is set by catalog size and features, not volume. For how that compares with chat-capped apps, see my BestChat review.
Is Chizy free?
Yes. The Free plan includes unlimited AI conversations, up to 200 learned products, product recommendations, in-chat add-to-cart, order tracking, live chat handover and 90 days of live chat history. Paid plans start at $19 a month and come with a 14-day trial. For more free options, see my Shopify chatbot apps roundup.
Does Chizy limit the number of AI chats?
No. Chizy's pricing FAQ says there are no AI message or conversation caps, no fair-use quotas and no per-conversation overage fees on any plan. What the plans limit is how many products the AI learns. My explainer on deflection vs resolution covers why the billing unit matters when you compare chat tools.
Can Chizy hand a chat to a person?
Yes, on every plan. When a shopper asks for a person, or the AI is unsure and the shopper agrees, Chizy pauses the AI and notifies your team by web push or email. If nobody joins within the timeout (1 to 15 minutes, default 5), the AI picks the chat back up. My guide to human handoff in chat covers how to set that window.
Does Chizy work with Zendesk or Gorgias?
Chizy has a Zendesk integration on the Growth plan ($69 a month) and up: when a chat needs a person it opens a Zendesk ticket with the customer's details, a summary and the transcript. There is no Gorgias integration in Chizy's docs. If your team works in a helpdesk, an AI helpdesk teammate like eesel works inside the ticket queue itself.
Does Chizy track Shopify orders?
Yes. Shoppers give an order number plus their email (the default), their phone number, or the order number alone, and Chizy reads the status from Shopify. Its data access covers order history for the last 60 days. If order questions also arrive by email, my guide to WISMO automation covers that side.
What are the best Chizy alternatives?
For a storefront AI chat with a live inbox, look at the apps in my Shopify live chat apps list, including BestChat, Tidio and Zipchat. For support that also runs through email and a helpdesk, eesel works your Zendesk or Gorgias queue and can add a chat bubble to the store.
