What is Verifast AI?
Verifast AI is a Shopify app from Verifast Tech Labs, listed as "Verifast AI Chatbot & Helpdesk" and launched on the Shopify App Store on December 11, 2023. The Shopify listing describes a "ChatGPT-powered AI chat" that answers FAQs, recovers abandoned carts and recommends products "24/7 in 125 languages." The developer address is in Bangalore, and Verifast's homepage says it has powered 100M+ conversations for 1,000+ brands.

The pitch is "AI Agents that Sell, Support & Scale D2C," and the order of those words is honest. Read the homepage, the review feed or the case studies and the center of gravity is conversion and order value, not ticket deflection. If you've read my piece on conversational commerce, Verifast is a textbook example: the chat window is a sales floor first.

How Verifast AI works
Setup starts with the Shopify app. Verifast's listing gallery promises "Instant, Automatic AI Training on all Pages" and daily updates to product, pricing and inventory, which matches the "Auto crawling (Shopify)" line in the pricing table. So the bot learns from your catalog and store pages without you writing an FAQ, and you can add a custom knowledge base upload on the bigger plans. If you want the general idea first, my guide to training a chatbot covers it.

What makes Verifast different from a plain FAQ bot is the selling layer on top. Here's how the four jobs on its homepage break down.
The sales agent: recommendations, nudges and quizzes
The sales side asks shoppers about their goal or concern, then recommends a product or a combo. Verifast's pricing FAQ describes nudges as hooks "such as discounts, reviews and product benefits," and says the AI watches the visitor's state during a chat so it can step in with a pop-up before they leave checkout. Personalised quizzes, custom product-page flows and cart-based upsell discounts sit on top. My guide to AI upselling explains why this works best when the bot knows the catalog well.

This is where the reviews shine. Merchants with complicated catalogs describe the bot asking the right questions before recommending. A luggage brand put it well in October 2026:
"Picking luggage online comes down to one question: “which size do I need?” Verifast’s AI chatbot answers it brilliantly. It asks about trip length and travel style, then recommends the right cabin, check-in or trunk, and explains the differences between materials."
EUME, Shopify App Store, October 2026
That's a good use of AI. My piece on AI for pre-purchase questions makes the same point: the sale is often decided by one "which one is right for me?" question that nobody on the team is online to answer.
The support agent: product questions, order tracking and handover
On the support side, Verifast's support page lists order tracking by order ID, email or phone, product answers on ingredients, usage and side effects, returns and cancellations, and escalation of delayed orders as tickets. It also says Verifast replies in 125+ languages, including Hindi and Arabic, which shows up in reviews from Ayurveda brands whose customers write in regional languages. If that's you, my guide to multilingual ecommerce support goes deeper.

Two limits matter here. First, Live Agent Handover is a Sales-plan feature on verifast.ai, so Starter and Growth bots can't hand a chat to a person through Verifast's own flow. Verifast's support page says handover pushes the conversation history to your CRM so an agent can pick up where the AI left off, which is the right design. My guide to chat escalation shows what to ask for. Second, the support here lives in the chat window. It doesn't work your email tickets in Gorgias or Zendesk, which is where most stores' support volume actually lands. My piece on AI order tracking covers both sides.
One G2 reviewer describes the setup working as intended:
"It runs daily, connects with our logistics system, and filters only complex stuff to our agents."
Bot styling and flows
You control the bot's name, avatar, colors, position, welcome message, page-level prompts and tone. The pricing page lists "Self-Serve AI Control" and "Adaptive Tonality" on every plan, and custom bot flows from Growth up. Verifast's FAQ also says the team will customize your flow "any number of times during a month," which is a service promise more than a feature. My write-up on brand voice for AI agents covers why tone matters for trust.

Insights from your chats
The last job is reporting. Verifast segments chats by concern and intent, shows where people drop off, and promises "Voice of Customer" by page. Several merchants mention monthly or weekly reports from the success team. This is the feature I'd value most as an SEO person: the exact questions shoppers ask are the questions your product pages should answer. My chatbot analytics guide covers what to track.

The percentages in that donut are sample data in a marketing image, not a benchmark, so don't plan around them.
Verifast AI pricing
Verifast's pricing page opens with "Don't pay per response anymore. Pay per unique user instead," and that line is the most important thing to understand. The pricing FAQ, which is in the page's code even when the answers don't expand, defines it plainly: a conversation is a unique visitor identified by a cookie, and "any number of messages exchanged between AI and a user in a 30 day period" count once. In Verifast's words, "1 conversation = 1 user."

That's a fair unit for a sales bot, because a shopper who comes back three times before buying doesn't cost you three times. The catch is that a cookie is a browser, not a person, so the same shopper on their phone and their laptop is two conversations.
Here are the plans from the verifast.ai pricing page, checked on October 22, 2026:
| Plan | Monthly | Billed yearly (per month) | Conversations a month | Store size Verifast suggests | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $99 | $79 | 500 | ~20K visitors | 24/7 AI support, all languages, order tracking, recommendations, bot styling, email support |
| Growth | $199 | $159 | 2,000 | ~100K visitors | Product-page flows, cart recovery nudges, lead generation, segmentation, custom bot flows, priority chat support |
| Sales | $299 | $239 | 5,000 | ~500K visitors | Purchase and upsell nudges, smart AI pop-ups, Voice AI, CRM and shipping integrations, live agent handover, dedicated success manager |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Unlimited | High-volume stores | AI on email, app, WhatsApp and Instagram, custom features and integrations |
| Conversion | % of sales | % of sales | Unlimited | Any store | Pays Verifast a share of sales closed through the bot (rate not published) |
And here is what the Shopify App Store listing shows on the same day:
| Shopify listing plan | Price | Chats a month | Extra usage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Up to 200 | Not listed |
| Starter | $99/month, or $990/year | Up to 1,000 | $0.05 per additional chat |
The two don't line up, and there's a third version inside the verifast.ai page itself: its comparison table lists yearly prices of $83, $169 and $249 and calls the third plan "Scale," while the plan cards above it say $79, $159, $239 and "Sales." The pricing FAQ also still refers to "two fixed plans" with add-ons for live agent handover at $30 a month, a dedicated account manager at $45 and custom integration at $60. None of this is sinister, it reads like a page that's been edited plan by plan. But it means you should get your plan and price in writing before the trial ends, especially since billing runs through Shopify every 30 days.
Plug in your own numbers to see which route costs what.
For comparison, eesel's pricing page lists 500 credits for $299 a month, where a ticket or a chat is 1 credit however long it runs, and a free plan with 100 credits and no card. Per shopper, Verifast's Starter and Growth plans are cheaper, and I'd say so to anyone asking. The two are priced for different jobs, which I'll get to below.
What the data access tells you
Before you install, read the data access section of the listing. Verifast asks to view customer names, emails, phones and addresses, to edit customers and browsing behavior, and to edit orders, including draft orders, fulfillments, returns and shipping information. It also asks to edit store analytics through web pixels. That's consistent with what it promises (order tracking, returns, cart nudges, attribution), but edit access to orders is more than a read-only FAQ bot needs, so it's worth asking Verifast which actions the bot takes on its own. My guide to testing an AI agent has a checklist for exactly that conversation.
What 140 merchant reviews say about Verifast AI
The listing shows 4.9 stars from 144 reviews: 140 five-star, 2 four-star, none at three or two stars, and 2 one-star. I read all 140 the review feed returned, from February 2024 to October 21, 2026. Verifast replied to 116 of them, which is more attention than most developers give their reviews.
A 4.9 is a strong number, and it deserves context rather than suspicion. Here's what stood out once I counted:

- The customer base is concentrated. 131 of the 140 reviews come from stores in India, mostly health, Ayurveda, beauty and personal care brands. Only 9 come from anywhere else (4 from the US, 2 from Sweden, 1 each from Saudi Arabia, the Philippines and Singapore). If you sell in Europe or North America, you'll have few reviewers like you to compare against.
- Most reviews are early. 83 of 140 were written within three months of installing, and 65 within two. Early reviews tell you about onboarding, not month six.
- The team gets as much praise as the bot. 83 of 140 mention "the team," and three name the same staff member. That's a real strength, but it also means you're buying a service relationship, not just software.
One reviewer's honesty three weeks in captures the early-review problem nicely:
"We are curiously waiting for the month to complete to understand the reports that get generated because that will paint the real picture."
Amrutam, Shopify App Store, June 2026
What merchants like
The longer-term reviews are the useful ones, and they're consistent: the bot handles detailed product questions on catalogs that confuse shoppers, and the team keeps tuning it. ArcticMed, a Swedish store that's used it for over a year:
"Our customers often have quite detailed questions about our products, and Verifast helps them get quick and relevant answers directly on our website."
ArcticMed, Shopify App Store, September 2026
Others report hard numbers, like a 12% conversion lift across 5,000 shoppers a month (Dr.Rashel) or 15% higher order value (Habbits). Those are merchants' own figures, so treat them as stories, not benchmarks. Verifast's homepage claims 20% conversion uplift, 33% higher order value and 91% of support queries closed across its customers, and I couldn't check any of those against a source outside Verifast.
The two one-star reviews
Both one-star reviews are about billing, not the bot, and both are recent. In August 2026 a store in Saudi Arabia wrote that it "removed the app and stopped using the service, yet we were still charged a subscription fee afterward." Verifast replied that Shopify bills app subscriptions on a one-month delay. Then, on October 21, 2026:
"Informed the team 25 days before renewal that I wanted to leave. They kept delaying with promises of better pricing. Missed renewal by 7 hours, and they refused a refund despite knowing I wanted to cancel."
The Active Story, Shopify, October 2026
Two reviews out of 144 is a small share. But Verifast's own FAQ says to cancel you "notify us at team@verifast.tech," and a relationship-driven vendor can make leaving slower than uninstalling. If you try it, put your cancellation in writing and uninstall the app from Shopify yourself before the renewal date.
Verifast AI pros and cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Strong at product questions on wide, confusing catalogs | Two price lists (site and Shopify listing) that don't match |
| Sales tools built in: quizzes, nudges, upsell, cart recovery | Live agent handover only on the $299 Sales plan |
| Fair billing unit: 1 shopper over 30 days = 1 conversation | WhatsApp, Instagram and email are Enterprise only on verifast.ai |
| Hands-on team that tunes flows and sends reports | Reviews are 94% from India and mostly early |
| Chat insights by concern and page, useful for product pages | Two recent one-star reviews about billing after cancelling |
| 125 languages, including regional Indian languages | No public help docs; most answers come through the team |
| Auto-trains on your Shopify catalog | Asks for edit access to orders and customers |
Who should use Verifast AI?
I'd install it if you run a Shopify store with a big or technical catalog, where shoppers need someone to ask "which one is right for me?", and you'd like a team to set it up and keep tuning it. Health, supplements, skincare and Ayurveda brands in India are its home turf, and the reviews from those stores are specific and believable. A store around 20K to 100K monthly visitors fits the Starter and Growth plans.
I'd be careful if you're outside India and want proof from stores like yours, if you need a person to take over chats on a budget below $299 a month, or if your main channel is WhatsApp or Instagram, since those are custom-priced. Read the order-access permissions and get your plan in writing.
I'd skip it if your real problem is the support inbox. Verifast works the storefront chat. The "where is my order" emails, refund requests and Instagram DMs that pile up in Gorgias or Zendesk need a tool that works there, with the order history in front of it. That's a different job, and my guide to the best AI for ecommerce support compares the tools built for it.
Verifast AI alternatives worth a look
If Verifast isn't the fit, these are the routes I'd look at, each covered in more depth on the blog:
- Another sales-first Shopify chatbot: Zipchat and SmartBot are the closest. See my Zipchat review, its pricing breakdown, and my SmartBot alternatives.
- A Shopify FAQ page with a chatbot: my StoreFAQ review covers a lighter, cheaper option.
- A helpdesk with chat built in: my Willdesk review and Gorgias review cover the Shopify-native helpdesks.
- A general AI chatbot for small stores: Tidio is the common pick. My Tidio review covers it.
For the wider field, my roundup of Shopify chatbot apps and guide to the best ecommerce chatbots compare more tools side by side.
Try eesel for the Shopify support inbox
Verifast is a salesperson on your storefront. If what's actually eating your week is the support inbox, eesel is the AI helpdesk teammate I'd point you to. It joins your Shopify store and the helpdesk you already use, Gorgias, Zendesk or Freshdesk, checks the order before it replies, and learns from your past tickets.
Here's what that looks like for real stores like Verifast's customers. Question Beauty, a vegan cosmetics brand, runs eesel on Gorgias and Shopify: Messenger, email and chat questions get a topic tag and an answer in the customer's own language, and in one month eesel handled 990 tickets and closed 280 without a person. Refunds and complaints go to the team with a note. Koffer.ch, a Swiss luggage shop, has eesel draft Freshdesk replies in German, French, English or Italian for a person to send, and SaunaSpace uses it to draft Gorgias replies in its own calm brand voice.
The difference I'd point to is the test loop. Before eesel answers anyone, you can run it against your past tickets and see what it would have said, which is how you catch a wrong-price answer before a customer does. If you want it on the storefront too, the chat bubble answers visitors from your store and help center and hands off with a summary.
It isn't the cheaper option per chat. Plans start at $299 a month for 500 credits, and the free plan gives you 100 credits with no card. Try eesel on your own Shopify tickets and see the drafts before you pay anything.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Verifast AI?
Verifast AI is a Shopify app from Verifast Tech Labs in Bangalore that puts an AI shopping and support assistant on your store. It recommends products, answers product and order questions, nudges shoppers who are about to leave, and reports on what people ask. My guide to AI chatbots for ecommerce covers the category.
How much does Verifast AI cost?
On verifast.ai, Starter is $99 a month (or $79 a month billed yearly) for 500 conversations, Growth is $199 ($159) for 2,000, Sales is $299 ($239) for 5,000, and Enterprise is custom. The Shopify App Store listing shows a different set: a Free plan with 200 chats and Starter at $99 for 1,000 chats plus $0.05 per extra chat. My chatbot cost guide puts those numbers in context.
Is Verifast AI free?
The Shopify listing shows a Free plan with up to 200 chats a month, and every paid plan comes with a 7-day free trial that starts when you install the app. The verifast.ai pricing page doesn't list a free plan, so confirm which one applies before you rely on it. For other free options, see my list of Shopify chatbot apps.
How does Verifast AI count a conversation?
Verifast's pricing FAQ says a conversation is a unique visitor identified by a cookie, and everything that visitor says to the AI over 30 days counts as one conversation. That is friendlier than paying per reply, and it means your bill tracks how many shoppers chat, not how long they chat. My piece on chatbot ROI shows how to sanity-check that.
Are Verifast AI reviews trustworthy?
The 4.9 rating from 144 reviews is real, but read it with context: 131 of the 140 reviews I could read come from stores in India, 83 were written within three months of installing, and the two one-star reviews are both about billing after cancelling. The five-star reviews mostly praise the team as much as the bot. My SmartBot review applies the same test to a rival.
Does Verifast AI hand chats to a human?
Yes, but on verifast.ai Live Agent Handover sits in the Sales plan ($299 a month, or $239 billed yearly), and the pricing FAQ also lists it as a $30 a month add-on. Verifast says handover pushes the chat history to your CRM so an agent can pick up where the AI stopped. My guide to human handoff explains what good looks like.
Does Verifast AI work on WhatsApp and Instagram?
The listing says one chatbot covers your website, WhatsApp, Instagram and email. On the verifast.ai pricing page, AI on WhatsApp, Instagram, email and your mobile app are listed under the custom-priced Enterprise plan. If WhatsApp is your main channel, compare it with my list of the best WhatsApp chatbots.
What is a good Verifast AI alternative?
For another sales-first Shopify chatbot, look at Zipchat or SmartBot. For support tickets in your helpdesk, an AI teammate like eesel works inside Gorgias, Zendesk or Freshdesk and checks the Shopify order before it replies. My Zipchat alternatives list covers more of the field.
