What happened to Simplr

If you're researching Simplr alternatives, you've probably noticed something odd: simplr.ai doesn't load Simplr any more. It lands on Asurion's phone insurance homepage. A few roundups still describe Simplr as a live option, so here's what the record actually shows.

It was an Asurion venture, not an acquisition. Asurion introduced Simplr as one of its internal "Venture Teams": "an easy and affordable way for small businesses, eCommerce sites, and startups to access quality customer service support." The Nashville Business Journal reported in April 2018 that Asurion was "launching a new company in San Francisco," and Simplr's own 2018 launch release called it "a customer service solutions initiative incubated and funded by Asurion." Its founder and CEO throughout was Eng Tan, a former Asurion executive. By 2023 Simplr described itself as "a wholly owned subsidiary of Asurion" (Solo Stove release, July 2023).

It started as exactly what small ecommerce brands wanted. In July 2019 the homepage read: "High-quality customer service for high-growth online retailers. Our US-based, on-demand 24/7 customer service outsourcing solution can be up and running for your store within hours."

Simplr's homepage as archived on 16 July 2019, headlined "Outsource your customer service" above an "As seen in" strip with Forbes, Inc. and PC Mag, as taken from the Wayback Machine

Then it moved upmarket. By 2022 its press releases named customers like YETI and The North Face (Gartner release, April 2022), and its CEO called Simplr "the CX platform of record for large international brands" (2022 release). The last live homepage, captured on 23 August 2024, led with "Delivering AI-powered enterprise CX" and "a fully-managed, highly-secure conversational bot."

Then the site went dark. Archive captures put the switch between August and November 2024. The pricing page was already redirecting to asurion.com in a 13 September 2024 capture, and the homepage was redirecting by 3 November 2024. When we checked on 9 October 2026, simplr.ai, /pricing and /quote all landed on Asurion's consumer homepage.

Nobody published a formal announcement. We couldn't find a press release, Asurion newsroom post or executive LinkedIn post saying Simplr was closed. What we did find points to the team being folded into Asurion during 2024:

  • On r/Asurion in March 2024, an anonymous user wrote: "Simplr was absorbed by Asurion a few days ago and had a mass layoff." (Reddit). That's unverified, but it fits the timing.
  • Simplr's specialist network, SimplrFlex, stopped accepting applicants on 10 May 2024 ("Due to a surge of amazing applicants," per its archived homepage), and the notice was still up a year later.
  • At least four former Simplr leaders now list Asurion roles, including its former CTO, now "Head of Product and Technology at Asurion" per Crunchbase.

The specialists kept some work going for a while. On r/WorkOnline in April 2025, one wrote:

"I'm a current Expert and the company has gone downhill so much. Volume is at an all time low and we only have about 4 partners left."

u/Jolly_Bluebird3103, r/WorkOnline

The same person wrote in February 2026 that "The company will be going under within the year. At least the human part of it" (Reddit). Today simplrflex.com doesn't resolve at all. So if you're a brand looking for a provider, Simplr isn't one of your options, whatever an older list says.

Simplr's timeline from Asurion's 2018 launch to the 2024 redirect: 2018 launch, 2019 US-based on-demand service for online stores, 2022 chatbot plus humans suite, August 2024 enterprise CX pitch, November 2024 redirect to asurion.com, and 2025 reports of about 4 clients left

What you're actually replacing

It's worth being precise about what Simplr sold, because that's the thing you're shopping for. Three things made it different from a normal outsourcer.

It billed per resolution, always. In 2018 the homepage promised answers "for $2.25 per resolution," and the 2019 FAQ explained: "Simplr provides a transparent, flat-rate cost of $2.25 for every resolved customer interaction," with follow-up questions inside 48 hours included. The Shopify app launch release added: "There are also no minimums or long-term contracts." From mid-2019 the number disappeared and pricing became quote-only, but the unit never changed. Even the 2024 pricing page said: "Our pricing model is based on customer resolutions to align our incentives. If your customer's issue isn't resolved, you don't pay."

It was a pool. Simplr's "Human Cloud Network" of freelance specialists, US-only in the early years, picked up tickets on demand and were paid per resolution too (SimplrFlex FAQ). It covered email, chat, SMS and social DMs, and deliberately went "no-phone" (FAQ). The 2022 pricing page listed "No hefty minimums," "No surge pricing" and "No hourly rates."

It worked inside your helpdesk. Simplr announced integrations with Zendesk and a Gorgias partnership in 2020, plus a Shopify app.

Not everyone found it cheap. A small-business reviewer on G2 wrote in 2023: "Price point was on the higher side. Certain volume discounts should be offered to long-term customers." The broader worry about outsourcing hasn't gone away either. As Peak Support COO Hannah Clark Steiman (a vendor, to be fair) put it on LinkedIn: "Cheap BPOs aren't as cost-effective as they seem. Sure, a low hourly rate looks great on paper, but what about the hidden costs?"

Here's the uncomfortable part. Almost nobody sells the Simplr model any more. Most of the market went back to selling seats, while the per-output end moved toward AI. The map below shows where each alternative sits.

Positioning map of Simplr alternatives by how you pay (per seat or hour versus for output) and who answers first (people versus AI with people checking): eesel Managed Support (a flat monthly fee rather than per seat), PartnerHero/Crescendo and Remarkable AI sit in the AI-first, pay-for-output corner, TalentPop Lite sits in pay-for-output with people answering, and Helpware, Influx, Hugo, SupportNinja and TalentPop's dedicated agents sit in the per-seat half, with Simplr's former spot marked as gone

How we picked these Simplr alternatives

We started from Simplr's own customer: an ecommerce brand that wants support handled inside its existing helpdesk, without hiring. Every provider here had to:

  • Still be actively selling to new ecommerce brands in October 2026. We left out HelpSquad because it now leads with healthcare and treats ecommerce as a side line.
  • Work inside the brand's own tools rather than replacing them (three providers don't publish a helpdesk list, which we flag in their sections).
  • Have pricing we could source, either published or archived, or say plainly that it's quote-only.

We re-checked every live pricing page on 9 October 2026 and read each provider's reviews on Clutch, G2, Trustpilot and Reddit. For background on the category, our ecommerce customer service outsourcing guide and AI customer service outsourcing explainer cover the basics.

Every price below comes from the provider's own site (live, or archived where noted), re-checked on 9 October 2026. "About" and "implied" figures are our arithmetic. "Quote" means you have to talk to sales.

The short version: only three options on this list still bill the way Simplr's ecommerce customers were used to, meaning by output instead of by seat. Those are Remarkable AI, TalentPop Lite and (with a flat fee instead of a meter) eesel Managed Support. PartnerHero's outcome-based pricing is quote-only, and everyone else sells agent-hours or agent-months.

1. eesel Managed Support (our pick, and yes, it's ours)

Best for: ecommerce brands that liked handing Simplr the whole queue and want one predictable bill instead of a per-ticket meter.

Full disclosure: this is our service. We built eesel Managed Support for exactly the brand Simplr used to serve before it went enterprise: a store doing up to about 5,000 customer conversations a month that wants support handled, not another tool to run.

The eesel Managed Support inbox, showing email, Instagram DM, SMS, product review, WhatsApp, phone and Messenger conversations in one list with $5k a month, 24/7 and 0 new tools tiles underneath, as taken from eesel
The eesel Managed Support inbox, showing email, Instagram DM, SMS, product review, WhatsApp, phone and Messenger conversations in one list with $5k a month, 24/7 and 0 new tools tiles underneath, as taken from eesel

How it compares to Simplr. Simplr paired an on-demand pool of US specialists with AI. We flip the ratio: eesel's AI agents answer every conversation inside your existing tools, and eesel's own team watches over the AI, writes your playbook with you and takes anything sensitive. The AI takes real actions, "tracking orders, creating exchanges, issuing refunds within your limits," per the Managed Support page. Channels cover email and helpdesk (Gorgias, Zendesk, Freshdesk, Gmail), Instagram, Facebook and TikTok DMs, SMS, WhatsApp, reviews and phone.

Sources: Managed Support, eesel pricing.

Pros

  • One number. At 1,000 or 5,000 conversations the bill is the same $5,000, and busy season is "Handled. Same price."
  • Every channel at once, including the social DMs and reviews that outsourcers usually staff separately.
  • A weekly briefing on what customers asked, what was fixed and what's costing you sales.
  • Live in about a week, no setup fee, cancel any time.

Cons

  • It's new. Managed Support is a founding-partner beta, so there are no published results for it yet. The self-serve product has customers (2,000+ teams per the customers page), but that's a different service.
  • AI answers first. If you specifically want a human typing every reply, a people-first outsourcer suits you better.
  • Not built for phone-heavy operations, regulated work, or brands far above 5,000 conversations a month.

Our take: If you chose Simplr to make the queue someone else's problem, this is the closest thing to that feeling with a fixed price. If you'd rather run the AI yourself, skip the managed layer and use eesel's self-serve AI instead.

2. Remarkable AI (formerly Chatdesk)

Best for: Shopify and Gorgias brands with seasonal email, social DM and SMS volume that want to keep paying for output, not seats.

Remarkable AI is the company you probably knew as Chatdesk (we've done a full Chatdesk review and Chatdesk pricing breakdown). The legal entity is now "Chatdesk, Inc. DBA Remarkable AI" (terms). Of everything on this list it's the closest structural match to the old Simplr: a pool of freelance "Experts" working alongside AI, sold to ecommerce brands, priced on volume rather than headcount. Chatdesk even ran a Chatdesk vs. Simplr page, which tells you who it was competing with.

The Remarkable AI homepage with the headline "Every customer experience should be remarkable" and a mock-up of an AI-personalised win-back message, as taken from Remarkable AI

How it compares to Simplr. On-demand experts paid per resolved ticket, with a dedicated option. In its own words, "you are not charged for the number of Experts. You are only charged for the volume of tickets that are solved" (FAQ). AI drafts and a human reviews: "Remarkable AI turns context into personalized messages, reviewed by experts" (support page). It leans hard into social (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube). Like Simplr, it doesn't do live phone support: experts "never have to take phone calls" per its job listing.

PlanPriceBillable unitNotes

Call deflection add-onFrom $99 / monthMonthlyNo live phone agents

Sources: chatdesk.com/pricing, Remarkable AI support. Older per-ticket plans (from $1,000 for 400 tickets, stepping down to $2.00 a ticket) are still in the pricing page's code but no longer shown, so treat them as history.

Pros

  • Pay-for-output pricing and an ecommerce-only roster, including Hot Topic at "68,000+ tickets solved" and "95% CSAT" (Hot Topic story).
  • No overtime premium for nights or weekends (FAQ).
  • Works inside Gorgias, Zendesk, Kustomer and other helpdesks (integrations).

Cons

  • Pricing is murky: one visible tier, and older FAQ pages still say $99 a month (FAQ).
  • The homepage now leads with AI win-back marketing, so support may not stay the core product.
  • The terms auto-renew, with "No refunds or credits" on early termination, which sits awkwardly next to the FAQ's "month-to-month" promise.

"Our business is incredibly seasonal and so flexible support is an essential"

Sarah M., mid-market buyer, G2 review

The other side of the pool model shows up on Reddit. A former expert wrote that "The companies I supported paid $0.50 -$0.70 per ticket answered" (r/VirtualAssistantPH). The same person claimed the US workforce was let go, which another expert in the thread disputed. If US-based agents were why you picked Simplr, ask where your experts sit and get it in writing. G2 rates it 4.8 from 13 reviews (G2).

Our take: The most Simplr-shaped option still selling to ecommerce. Pick it if your volume is email, DMs and SMS and swings hard by season. Skip it if you need phone cover (Simplr never offered it either), or a contract you can actually walk away from mid-term.

3. TalentPop

Best for: Shopify brands that want either a dedicated offshore agent at a low hourly rate, or a pay-per-ticket pool for async email and social.

TalentPop is an ecommerce-only outsourcing agency in Costa Mesa, California, founded around 2020 by Ashkan Taheri and Arman Taheri. It claims "750 Brands" and "2000+ Team Members" (about). Our TalentPop review and TalentPop pricing posts go deeper.

How it compares to Simplr. The main product is a named, dedicated agent billed by the hour, which is the opposite of Simplr's pool. But TalentPop Lite is a genuine on-demand option: "On-Demand Customer Support. Pay Per Ticket. Scale Instantly." The catch is that Lite agents "respond to emails, SMS, and social media within 24 hours," so it's not a live chat service. Agents are offshore: "the majority of our agents reside in the Philippines or Jamaica," with US-based account managers (FAQs).

Sources: TalentPop pricing, TP Lite. One full-time agent on the Professional plan works out to about $2,080 a month by our math ($12 x 40 hours x 4.33 weeks).

Pros

  • The most complete public price list on this page.
  • Month-to-month on everything; "We don't do long-term contracts" (FAQs).
  • Training covers Shopify, Gorgias and Zendesk (how it works).

Cons

  • $500 per agent (or per Lite account) on day one.
  • A 24-hour reply promise on Lite is slow for "where's my order?" chats.
  • Few independent buyer reviews: no G2 listing, and its 3.8 Trustpilot score (Trustpilot) is mostly agents reviewing their employer.

Some store owners on Trustpilot describe outreach that posed as a customer question:

"Someone contacted our store appearing to be a prospective customer and asked a routine question about our return policy. After we replied, he announced that he had purchased elsewhere because our response took two days..."

Store owner, Trustpilot review

TalentPop has replied publicly that "Due to an error in our process, communications related to this audit reached a broader audience than intended" (Trustpilot reply). Fair play for owning it.

Our take: TP Lite is the cheapest way to keep Simplr-style per-ticket billing for async channels, at $3.00 a resolution once you pass 1,000 tickets. Pick the dedicated plans if you want one person who learns your brand. Skip both if you chose Simplr for US agents or fast live chat.

4. Influx

Best for: growth-stage brands with steady volume that want dedicated, follow-the-sun agents on month-to-month terms, voice included.

Influx was founded in Melbourne in 2013 by Leni Mayo and Michael De Wildt. It sells "Human + AI global support teams" on "simple month to month plans" (homepage).

The Influx homepage with the headline "Customer Support, Done." and badges for 95%+ CSAT, launch in 1 week, 1100+ global network and month to month, as taken from Influx

How it compares to Simplr. Seats, not a pool: Influx agents "work exclusively on your account, not shared across multiple clients" (pricing FAQ). Flexibility comes from month-to-month terms and adding or dropping seats. Agents sit across American, European and APAC time zones, and Americas seats cost more. It covers "Email, chat, social, voice, and omnichannel setups." We've covered it in depth in our Influx pricing breakdown and Influx alternatives.

Pros

  • Published prices, no setup fee, "From signed agreement to kick-off in 7 days."
  • Managed Operations "commits to outcomes like CSAT and SLA targets."
  • Real 24/7 through teams in three regions.

Cons

  • You pay the agent-month whether tickets arrive or not, and "Most full-time roles cover five days per week," so 24/7 means at least five seats.
  • A thin review base: Clutch shows 4.1 from 7 anonymous reviews, all dated the same day in 2022, with cost the lowest score at 3.9 (Clutch).

"I'm impressed with their clear targets and monthly plans."

CEO, financial services client, Clutch

Our take: A clean, honest seat model with real prices. Pick it if your volume is steady enough to keep agents busy every week. Skip it if you're small or very seasonal: one Americas seat starts at $1,700 a month before a single ticket.

5. PartnerHero (now part of Crescendo)

Best for: mid-size and larger brands that want AI to resolve most volume, with an offshore human team behind it, under one managed contract.

PartnerHero was founded in 2014 by Shervin Talieh and acquired by AI company Crescendo on 2 October 2024. Its homepage now reads "PartnerHero is now part of Crescendo."

How it compares to Simplr. This is where Simplr was heading at the end: a human + AI managed service sold on outcomes. The two plans are "AI Assisted CX" and "Fully Managed CX," both with "Outcome based pricing" (homepage). Agents are mostly nearshore and offshore (Honduras, the Philippines, Romania); US agents are the premium tier. More on the parent company in our Crescendo pricing and Crescendo alternatives posts.

Today both partnerhero.com/pricing and Crescendo's pricing page redirect to Crescendo's homepage, so it's quote-only.

Pros

  • Proven fast ramp: one client went "over 90 agents in just a matter of weeks" (Clutch).
  • Clients praise low agent turnover.
  • US onshore agents exist if you need them.

Cons

  • No public price, and the last published Crescendo card started with a $2,900 monthly fee before any per-solve charge.
  • "You'll deploy with your launch team for a minimum of 60 days" (homepage).
  • Thin, dated reviews: 4.9 on Clutch from 6 reviews, all from early 2023, and nothing on G2.

"They won't let you directly manage any of the staff we paid to hire. They force you to go through their inexperienced and uncooperative managers and leads."

Former client, Trustpilot review (2023)

On LinkedIn, Peter Hwang summed up how unusual the deal was: "How does a tiny AI startup acquire a company with 3,000 employees?" (LinkedIn post, search-derived snippet).

Our take: The right call for a larger brand that liked late-era Simplr's enterprise AI pitch and wants one vendor owning both the AI and the people. Too heavy for a small store that liked paying only for what was handled.

6. Helpware

Best for: growing ecommerce brands with steady volume that want a dedicated offshore or nearshore team with an AI deflection layer, and a published rate to budget against.

Helpware was founded in 2015 and is run by CEO Robert Nash. Its CX arm sells dedicated teams under the line "Human-Centered. AI-Powered. Business Transformed." (Full detail in our Helpware review and Helpware pricing posts.)

The Helpware homepage with the headline "Human-Centered. AI-Powered. Business Transformed." on a dark background, as taken from Helpware

How it compares to Simplr. Dedicated only: "We provide only dedicated agents who work exclusively for your company" (pricing FAQ). The ecommerce pitch is close to Simplr's late human + AI split. AI handles "30% routine ticket deflection" like order status and returns lookups, while people handle "returns/refund judgment calls" (ecommerce page). eCommerce is 30% of its Clutch work.

LocationHourly rateYear-one cost per agentOngoing cost per agent
Uganda$9.93$21,404$20,654
Philippines$12.01$25,731$24,981
Ukraine$16.50$35,070$34,320
Georgia$18.56$39,355$38,605
Mexico$19.59$41,497$40,747

Source: Helpware rate table. The plans themselves (HW.Talent, HW.Team, HW.Hub) carry no prices. The $750 gap between year one and ongoing cost is the one-time setup per agent.

Pros

  • More published numbers than most BPOs, and a strong review base: 4.8 on Clutch from 47 reviews (Clutch) and 4.9 on G2 from 30 (G2).
  • Real ecommerce depth, including a BFCM playbook that plans for Cyber Week teams at three to five times base headcount (ecommerce page).
  • "45+ languages."

Cons

  • The standard terms of service are heavy for a small brand: a one-year auto-renewing term, fees paid upfront, at least 5% yearly increases, and "Client may not reduce the number of Helpware agents until the next Agreement renewal date."
  • No published US rate.

"Our initial team of 4 agents has now grown into a team of 30+."

Customer care manager, online grocery delivery company, Clutch review

Our take: Strong for a brand with predictable year-round volume. Read the headcount clause before you sign: if your volume doubles for BFCM and halves in January, you can't shrink the team until renewal.

7. Hugo

Best for: budget-conscious brands that want a fully managed dedicated team at a known floor price, with seasonal surge cover.

Hugo is a Chicago-headquartered outsourcer founded in 2017, led by CEO Orinola Gbadebo-Smith, with most delivery in Africa (Lagos, Nairobi). It claims "4,500+ Employees Worldwide" (about).

The Hugo homepage with the headline "Built to make you better." under an "Outsourcing+" label and a Book of the Month case study card, as taken from Hugo

How it compares to Simplr. Dedicated teams, but "month-to-month contracts" and a "Surge Protect" option ("Access elite talent instantly, scale down seamlessly") make it the most flexible of the seat-based providers (pricing). Channels include email, live chat, phone, SMS and social. Not US-based.

PlanPriceUnitIncludedTerms

Source: Hugo pricing. At the floor rate that's about $1,907 per full-time agent a month by our math.

Pros

  • A live published price with management included, which is rare.
  • Hugo says its "annual agent turnover is just 4%" (pricing FAQ).
  • Perfect 5.0 on Clutch from 28 reviews (Clutch).

Cons

  • Ecommerce is only 10% of its Clutch work.
  • No G2 or Trustpilot presence, so reviews come from one platform.

"after experiencing high turnover with Philippines BPOs, it's refreshing to work with many of the same faces since day one."

Our take: The best value among the seat-based outsourcers here if you're comfortable with offshore agents. Skip it if you need per-ticket billing or a US team.

8. SupportNinja

Best for: brands with steady, predictable volume that want a dedicated offshore team inside Zendesk or Gorgias, with the option to manage it themselves.

SupportNinja was founded in 2015, is headquartered in Austin, and runs centers in the Philippines, Romania and the US. CEO Craig Crisler is one of its original founders. We've written a full SupportNinja review and SupportNinja pricing guide.

How it compares to Simplr. Dedicated "Ninjas" on a flat fee per agent, the opposite of an on-demand pool. Its pitch is now a "human-in-the-loop (HITL) approach," with AI tools assisting agents rather than resolving on their own. 25% of its clients are ecommerce, CPG or retail.

Pros

  • No setup fee, and quotes for teams as small as 1-2 agents.
  • Works in Zendesk, Gorgias, Aircall and Salesforce.
  • Voice included, 24/7.

Cons

  • "The recruitment process can take 2-4 weeks ... they go through 2-4 weeks of training" (How it works), so up to two months to go live.
  • Almost no independent client reviews: 1 on Clutch, none on G2, 3 on Trustpilot from 2019.

"With SupportNinja, you can't go wrong. You get outstanding customer service and huge cost savings."

Client, Trustpilot review (2019)

Our take: A solid dedicated-team BPO for brands that plan months ahead. It's the furthest from Simplr's on-demand model on this list, so if Simplr's selling point for you was "switch it on this week," look higher up.

What a Simplr-style setup costs at your volume

Rate cards are hard to compare because every provider bills a different unit. So here's one scenario run three ways: a brand that wants every conversation covered 24/7, at three volumes. We used the cheapest published per-resolution option (TalentPop Lite, where $3.00 a resolution applies from 1,000 tickets and $2.50 from 3,000), a five-seat 24/7 team at Influx's published APAC rate ($1,400 a seat), and eesel Managed Support's flat $5,000.

Why five seats? A week has 168 hours, so 24/7 cover with 40-hour shifts takes 4.2 full-time agents before anyone takes leave. Five is the realistic minimum.

Monthly cost at 1,000, 2,500 and 5,000 conversations a month: TalentPop Lite per resolution costs $3,000, $7,500 and $12,500; a five-seat 24/7 Influx team costs $7,000 at every volume; eesel Managed Support costs $5,000 flat at every volume

What the chart says:

  • Below about 1,700 conversations a month, pay-per-resolution is cheapest. That's Simplr's original sweet spot, and it's why small brands loved it. TalentPop Lite at 1,000 tickets is $3,000, though Lite only promises a reply within 24 hours.
  • Above that, a meter gets expensive fast. At 5,000 conversations, per-resolution billing costs $12,500 a month, more than double the flat option.
  • Seats cost the same whether it's January or Black Friday. That's fine at steady volume and painful when it swings.

These are list prices for the cheapest published tier, and they assume one conversation equals one resolution. Your quote will differ, but the shape won't. For the full picture across providers, see our customer service outsourcing cost guide and our breakdown of AI agent vs human agent cost.

How to choose between these Simplr alternatives

Most people searching for this land in one of four situations. Here's where we'd send each.

"Simplr was handling our whole inbox and now we need someone tomorrow." You need something that switches on in days and doesn't need a hiring round. That rules out SupportNinja (4-8 weeks to source and train) and Helpware (2-4 weeks for a pilot team). eesel Managed Support and Influx both quote about a week; Remarkable AI says it launches "in days."

"We're seasonal. BFCM is three times January." Seat-based contracts punish this. Helpware's standard terms don't let you cut headcount until renewal. Pay-per-output (Remarkable AI, TP Lite) or a flat price that doesn't move with volume (eesel) suits a spiky calendar. Hugo's Surge Protect is the best of the seat-based options here.

"We picked Simplr because the agents were American." Be careful. Most alternatives are offshore by default. Remarkable AI markets US-based experts but ask for it in writing. Influx sells Americas seats from $1,700, and PartnerHero's onshore agents start at $4,900 a month each.

"Our volume is mostly order status, returns and exchanges." That's the queue AI handles best, and it's why we built Managed Support around AI agents that take actions in Shopify and your helpdesk. Our guides to AI for order tracking and AI refund automation go deeper. If you'd rather people handle most messages, Helpware's model (AI deflects about 30%, a dedicated team handles the rest) is the more conservative version.

One thing we'd do regardless of who you pick: before you sign, export a month of your old tickets and tag them by type. The split between "where's my order?" and "this needs judgment" decides which model is cheaper for you far more than any rate card does.

Try eesel Managed Support

If you're a Simplr customer without a home, or a brand that wanted what Simplr used to be, eesel Managed Support is our answer. For $5,000 a month flat, eesel's AI agents answer every customer conversation inside the tools you already use, across email, social DMs, SMS, WhatsApp, reviews and phone, and eesel's own team watches over the AI and handles escalations. No setup fee, no contract, and you get a weekly briefing on what your customers are telling you. We're taking 30 founding partners while we run it hands-on.

The eesel Managed Support comparison table: an offshore team of 5 agents at $7,000-$10,000 a month, a US-based team at about $25,000, and eesel Managed Support at $5,000 flat, live in about a week with no setup fee, as taken from eesel

It isn't for everyone: if you're phone-heavy, regulated, far above 5,000 conversations a month, or want to run the AI yourself, the self-serve plans or one of the providers above will fit better. Otherwise, claim a founding spot and tell us your store and channels.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Simplr still in business?
Not as something you can buy. Simplr was a customer service venture that Asurion launched in 2018. Archive captures show simplr.ai was live on 23 August 2024 and redirecting to asurion.com by November 2024, and it still does. There is no quote form or sign-up path, so new brands need one of the Simplr alternatives instead, such as eesel Managed Support.
What is the closest alternative to Simplr?
On billing model, Remarkable AI (formerly Chatdesk) and TalentPop Lite are the closest, since both charge for output rather than seats. On the hands-off feel, eesel Managed Support takes the whole queue for a flat $5,000 a month. Our ecommerce outsourcing roundup covers more providers.
How much did Simplr cost, and what do Simplr alternatives cost?
Simplr billed per resolution: a published $2.25 per resolution in 2018 and 2019, then quote-only. Today the per-output options run about $2.50 to $4.00 per resolution (TalentPop Lite) or from $1,500 a month for 500 conversations (Remarkable AI). Seat-based providers start around $1,400 per agent per month (Influx). eesel Managed Support is $5,000 a month flat for up to about 5,000 conversations. See our outsourcing cost guide for more.
Do I have to change my helpdesk when I move off Simplr?
Usually not. TalentPop trains on Shopify, Gorgias and Zendesk, SupportNinja lists Zendesk and Gorgias, Remarkable AI integrates with Gorgias, Zendesk and Kustomer, and eesel Managed Support works inside Gorgias, Zendesk, Freshdesk or Gmail alongside Shopify. Check the Gorgias AI options if that's your stack. PartnerHero, Helpware and Hugo don't publish a helpdesk list, so confirm yours on a call.
What should I watch for when switching support providers before peak season?
Contract terms and ramp time. Seat-based providers can take 2 to 8 weeks to hire and train, and some standard contracts block headcount cuts until renewal, which hurts after BFCM. Pay-per-output or flat pricing absorbs spikes better. Our guide to outsourcing pros and cons covers the trade-offs, and eesel Managed Support keeps the same price through busy season.
