What you are actually buying from TalentPop
It helps to know what TalentPop is before you read the price list, because the price only makes sense once you see the product. TalentPop is a staffing and management agency, not software. Co-founders Ashkan Taheri and Arman Taheri started it after building offshore teams for their own ecommerce brands, according to the about page. Today it claims 750+ brands and 2000+ team members.
You get a dedicated remote agent who works inside your own helpdesk and Shopify admin. TalentPop recruits the agent, trains them on 150 of your past tickets, and assigns a Team Lead who spot-checks five tickets a week, per its how it works page. The FAQ says most agents are in the Philippines or Jamaica, with recent expansion into South Africa. Your Customer Success Manager and recruiter are in the US.
That model shapes the bill. You are not paying for answered tickets. You are paying for a person's logged hours, whether the inbox is busy or quiet. If you want the full picture of the service itself, our TalentPop review covers onboarding, the AI offer and what customers and agents say. This post sticks to the money.
TalentPop pricing: the full rate card
TalentPop publishes its rates as cards on its pricing page, with a tab for each role. Here is the customer service tab, which is the one most Shopify brands will use.

Customer service agents
| Plan | Hourly rate | Who it is for | One-time fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Getting Started | $14/hour | Per agent, 20-29 hours/week | $500 per agent |
| Essential | $13/hour | Per agent, 30-39 hours/week | $500 per agent |
| Professional ("Most Popular") | $12/hour | 1-9 agents, 40 hours/week | $500 per agent |
| Advanced | $10/hour | 10-24 agents, 40 hours/week | $500 per agent |
| Enterprise | $8/hour | 25+ agents, 40 hours/week | $500 per agent |
Every tier includes the same three things: a "Dedicated and Trained Agent", a "Quality Assurance Team" and month-to-month terms. You do not get extra features on a higher tier. The only thing that changes is the price per hour, and you unlock the lower rates by buying more hours and more people.

That is the first thing worth knowing. The "from $8/hr" headline is real, but it is the rate for a team of 25 or more. A brand hiring its first two or three agents pays $12. A brand that only needs 20 to 29 hours a week pays $14.
Other roles on the same price list
TalentPop sells more than support. The other tabs on the pricing page use the same hours-and-headcount ladder:
| Role | 20-29 hrs/wk | 30-39 hrs/wk | 40 hrs, 1-9 | 40 hrs, 10-24 | 40 hrs, 25+ |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Customer service agent | $14 | $13 | $12 | $10 | $8 |
| Executive assistant | $16 | $15 | $14 | $12 | $10 |
| Marketing assistant | $14 | $13 | $12 | $10 | $8 |
| Influencer marketing specialist | $14 | $13 | $12 | $10 | $8 |
| E-commerce sales associate | $17 | $16 | $15 | $13 | $11 |
All of them carry the same one-time $500 staffing fee per person. The sales associate is TalentPop's "brand concierge" role, pitched on the homepage as turning customer service into "a Revenue Generating Channel". It costs $3 an hour more than a support agent.
The billable unit: logged hours, not answers
This is the part of TalentPop pricing that matters most, and it is easy to skim past. The pricing FAQ explains it plainly:
"Your team is invoiced twice a month each month for the exact hours and minutes that your agent worked. Along with each invoice comes a breakdown of the exact hours and minutes worked each week that's kept tracked by our time tracking system Hubstaff."
TalentPop, pricing FAQ
The agent clocks in and out daily. They are logged out automatically if they are away for 10 minutes or more, and a Team Lead verifies the hours before billing. That is fair and transparent. You never pay for a lunch break.
But think about what it means for a Shopify brand. You pay the same for a quiet Tuesday in February as for Black Friday morning. A 40-hour agent also covers only 40 of the 168 hours in a week, which is about 24%. Tickets that arrive overnight or on weekends wait unless you buy more hours or more agents. That is the real trade-off of outsourcing customer service by the hour: your bill tracks your schedule, not your ticket volume.
TalentPop Lite: pay per resolution
TalentPop also runs a second price list that is not on its main pricing tabs. TalentPop Lite is pitched as "On-Demand Customer Support. Pay Per Ticket. Scale Instantly." Instead of a dedicated agent, your tickets go to a pool of trained agents, and you pay for each one they resolve.

| TP Lite plan | Price per resolution | Monthly volume | One-time fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $4.00 | 0-149 tickets | $500 onboarding |
| Professional | $3.50 | 150-999 tickets | $500 onboarding |
| Growth ("Most Popular") | $3.00 | 1000-2999 tickets | $500 onboarding |
| Scale | $2.50 | 3,000-9,999 tickets | $500 onboarding |
| Enterprise | Custom | 10,000+ tickets | $500 onboarding |
Lite comes with a "30 Day Money-back Guarantee" and a "24 Hours Guaranteed Response Time". It covers email, SMS and social media, and the page says agents follow "your tone, macros, and policies" (TP Lite).
Two things to check before you sign. First, the page does not define a "resolution", so ask how a ticket that needs three replies is counted. Second, a 24 hour response guarantee is a guarantee about email, not live chat. It suits a brand with a modest, predictable inbox. It is not built for shoppers who expect an answer while they are still on your product page. If you are weighing per-ticket pricing more broadly, our breakdown of AI customer service costs shows where per-ticket humans and per-ticket AI land.
AI Transformation: the add-on that costs more than an agent
The newest line on the price list is AI Transformation, which promises to "Automate up to 30% of Support With AI". TalentPop's team sets up and runs an AI agent inside your helpdesk. Its own case studies show this is Gorgias's AI: the Silky Gem story says TalentPop "introduced Gorgias Automate" and reached a 55.9% automation rate.

| AI Transformation item | Price | TalentPop's recommended hours |
|---|---|---|
| Initial setup fee | $2,500 one-time | n/a |
| Strategy & Optimization (AI Success Manager) | $200/hour | 2 hours/week |
| Technical Updates (AI Implementation Specialist) | $80/hour | 5 hours/week |
| Quality Assurance (AI QA Specialist) | $15/hour | 20 hours/week |
The setup fee covers "AI-Powered Automations (30-50% of Tickets)", brand-voice responses, smart exclusions, email and live chat automation, escalation routing and reporting (pricing). The ongoing roles are optional, but TalentPop recommends specific hours for each. Add them up and the recommended package is $400 + $400 + $300 = $1,100 a week, or about $4,767 a month.

And that is before the AI itself. The automation runs on your helpdesk's AI, which your helpdesk bills separately. Gorgias pricing, for example, charges for its AI Agent per automated interaction: the Pro bundle shows $171 a month (billed annually) for 190 automated interactions on top of the helpdesk fee. We break that down in our Gorgias AI Agent pricing guide.
So TalentPop's AI service costs more each month than two full-time human agents, and you still pay for the software. It makes sense if you already have a big Gorgias team and want experts tuning automation. For a brand that just wants fewer tickets, it is an expensive way to get there.
Hidden costs and fine print
TalentPop's rates are unusually clear for this industry. Still, the hourly number is not the whole bill. These are the extras worth budgeting for.
| Cost | What it is | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Staffing fee | One-time $500 per agent (and per assistant or specialist) | Pricing |
| Lite onboarding fee | One-time $500 | TP Lite |
| AI setup | One-time $2,500, plus optional hourly roles | Automation |
| Helpdesk AI software | Billed by your helpdesk, not TalentPop | Gorgias pricing |
| Minimum commitment | 20 hours a week, month-to-month | FAQs |
| Your team's time | Approving the agent and 2-3 recorded live training calls | FAQs |
| Coverage gaps | A 40-hour agent covers 40 of 168 hours a week | Our math |
A few smaller points. The "Try TalentPop Risk-Free" banner promises "Guaranteed Results.*" on the pricing page, but the page does not explain the asterisk, so ask what is actually guaranteed. A competitor, Influx, describes TalentPop as "an hourly pricing model, with a one-time onboarding and setup fee", which matches what TalentPop publishes. And if your helpdesk charges per seat, a TalentPop agent needs a seat like anyone else.
What TalentPop costs at three brand sizes
Rates per hour are easy. The monthly total is what you budget. We used TalentPop's published rates and 52 weeks a year (4.33 weeks a month).

Small brand: one part-time agent
You get about 500 tickets a month and want someone answering email on weekdays. One agent on Getting Started, 20 hours a week at $14:
- Monthly: $14 x 20 x 4.33 = about $1,213
- Year one: about $15,060 including the $500 staffing fee
This is TalentPop at its best. That price buys a trained, managed human for less than most part-time local hires. If your volume is small and mostly email, it is hard to beat. TP Lite at $3.50 per resolution would cost about $1,750 for 500 tickets, so the hourly agent wins here too.
Growing brand: three full-time agents
You get 2,500 to 3,000 conversations a month across email, chat and Instagram, and you want weekday and weekend cover. Three agents on the Professional Plan at $12:
- Monthly: 3 x $12 x 40 x 4.33 = about $6,240
- Year one: about $76,380 including $1,500 in staffing fees
That is still fair for three dedicated humans. But it is also more than eesel Managed Support at $5,000 a month, which answers every channel at all hours.
24/7 brand: five agents
Round-the-clock cover takes about five agents once you count shifts, leave and sick days. Five agents at $12 (still under the 10-agent threshold for $10):
- Monthly: 5 x $12 x 40 x 4.33 = about $10,400
- Year one: about $127,300 including $2,500 in staffing fees
At about 5,000 tickets a month, TP Lite would run 5,000 x $2.50 = $12,500, and that is a 24 hour response guarantee, not live 24/7 cover. This is where hourly pricing stops looking cheap.
The comparison in one table
| Scenario | TalentPop hourly | TalentPop Lite | eesel Managed Support |
|---|---|---|---|
| ~500 tickets, weekday email | ~$1,213/mo | ~$1,750/mo | $5,000/mo |
| ~2,500 tickets, 3 agents | ~$6,240/mo | ~$7,500/mo | $5,000/mo |
| ~5,000 tickets, 24/7 | ~$10,400/mo | ~$12,500/mo | $5,000/mo |
| One-time fees | $500 per agent | $500 | None |
TP Lite figures assume the tier rate applies to the whole month's volume. We would confirm that with TalentPop before relying on it.
How TalentPop pricing compares with other outsourcers
TalentPop is far cheaper than US-based outsourcing, where eesel's own comparison puts agents at about $4,900 a month. Against other offshore providers, the $8 headline needs context. Influx publishes its Talent as a Service rates "from $1,400 per month for a Level 1 digital support agent in APAC, and from $1,700 per month in the Americas", with no setup fee. A full-time TalentPop agent on the Professional Plan is about $2,080 a month.
| Provider | Full-time agent, small team | Setup fee | Contract |
|---|---|---|---|
| TalentPop (Professional) | ~$2,080/mo ($12/hr) | $500 per agent | Month-to-month |
| TalentPop (Enterprise, 25+) | ~$1,387/mo ($8/hr) | $500 per agent | Month-to-month |
| Influx Talent as a Service | from $1,400 (APAC) to $1,700 (Americas) | None | Month-to-month |
| eesel Managed Support | $5,000 flat for every channel | None | Month-to-month |
So TalentPop's small-team rate is in the same range as other Philippines and LatAm providers, not far below them. It is a dedicated, ecommerce-trained agent with Shopify and Gorgias training baked in, which is worth something. Our Influx pricing breakdown and our roundup of the best ecommerce customer service outsourcing companies go deeper on the alternatives.
Is TalentPop worth the price?
For the right brand, yes. Clients on TalentPop's own case studies talk about savings over previous agencies. Here is Kate Dalton of Ancient Nutrition, which runs 16 TalentPop agents:
"It's like night and day compared to our partners before who were nameless, faceless, and we didn't talk to them. Switching to TalentPop, we saved so much money AND our results have improved so dramatically!"
Kate Dalton, Director, Ancient Nutrition, via TalentPop's case study
There is one number on the other side of the ledger worth knowing. Agents who say they work for TalentPop report earning far less than the client rate. One contractor on Reddit put it bluntly:
"Regardless of how much the client pays TP, you'll get $3."

That spread pays for recruiting, training, Team Leads and Customer Success Managers, so it is not a scandal in itself. It does tell you where retention risk sits, and we dig into it in the TalentPop review.
Our read: TalentPop is good value when you need one or two dedicated humans for a predictable inbox. It gets expensive when you are really buying coverage, meaning nights, weekends, peaks and channels. That is the problem hourly pricing handles worst.
When a flat price beats an hourly one
Look at your tickets before you look at agents. For most Shopify brands, the bulk of the queue is "where is my order", returns, exchanges and discount questions. Those are exactly the tickets an AI agent can answer and act on in your store. We cover the mechanics in our guides to AI order tracking, refund automation and tier-1 deflection.
If those tickets are answered automatically, you stop paying by the hour for someone to wait for them. Hourly pricing makes sense for judgment-heavy work: a VIP customer, a damaged wholesale order, a phone call that needs a calm voice. Flat pricing makes sense for volume.

Try eesel Managed Support
eesel Managed Support is the flat-price version of done-for-you support. For $5,000 a month, our AI agents answer every customer conversation: email and helpdesk, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok DMs, SMS, WhatsApp, reviews and phone. They work inside the tools you already use, like Shopify, Gorgias, Zendesk and Freshdesk. They take real actions such as tracking orders, creating exchanges and issuing refunds within your limits. A real person on our team watches over your account, handles escalations and sends you a weekly briefing.

There is no setup fee, no per-ticket fee and no contract. It is built for brands with up to about 5,000 conversations a month, and most brands are live within about a week. It is also new: we are taking 30 founding partners while we run it hands-on, so there are no Managed Support case studies yet. The AI agents come from eesel, which 2,000+ teams have hired through our self-serve product.
It is not for everyone. If most of your support is phone calls, if you work in a regulated industry, if you handle well over 5,000 conversations a month, or if you want to run the AI yourself, start with eesel's self-serve plans or a larger human team. If you are a Shopify brand pricing up three to five TalentPop agents for full coverage, see what Managed Support would cost you instead.
