Overview

Keyword explorer: find the queries you can actually win

Volume alone is a trap. This skill pulls volume, difficulty, and intent together so you build the pages you can rank for, not the ones that look big and stay on page five.

What it does

You give it a seed term. It pulls the related queries from Ahrefs, attaches volume and difficulty to each, reads the likely intent, and sorts so you see the terms you can win at the top instead of the terms that merely look big.

Why it beats sorting by volume

TermVolumeDifficultyWorth building?
Broad head termHighVery highRarely. You will sit on page five.
Specific buyer queryLowerClearableYes. Real intent, real shot at ranking.
Question / how-toMediumOften lowYes, for top-of-funnel coverage.

The skill does this weighing for you, so the shortlist you get is already filtered for "can we win this," not just "is this big."

Bring your own key

Like every Ahrefs skill, this is bring-your-own-key. eesel provides the engine that turns raw keyword data into a ranked, intent-aware shortlist. You bring the Ahrefs access. The sample here is canned; the live run happens on your seeds the moment you connect.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the keyword explorer skill return?
For a seed term it returns the related queries with search volume, keyword difficulty, and a read on intent, pulled live through your Ahrefs key. The output is sorted so the winnable terms (real volume, difficulty you can clear) sit at the top.
Why not just sort by search volume?
Because the biggest terms are usually the hardest and the least specific. A query with a tenth of the volume but matching buyer intent and a difficulty you can clear is worth more than a head term you will never rank for. The skill weighs all three together.
Does this use my Ahrefs key?
Yes. It runs through the Ahrefs integration on your own key, so the data and cost stay on your plan. The sample on this page is canned; connect your key to run it live on your own seeds.
